PHOENIX – Banner Health is expanding its partnership with The CORE Institute, bringing the “Banner CORE Center for Orthopedics” to Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa and Banner Thunderbird Medical Centerin Glendale, officials of the three entities announced April 17.
The Banner CORE Center for Orthopedics is a joint venture between Banner Health and The CORE Institute to deliver innovative, revolutionary orthopedic care initially launched in May 2011 at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City West.
At the Banner CORE Center for Orthopedics, physicians and hospital clinicians jointly develop, implement and improve care to patients by providing evidence-based care to patients from prior to their arrival to their rehabilitation program after surgery.
This approach has resulted in shorter hospital stays, faster recovery, fewer complications and greater patient satisfaction at Banner Del E. Webb, prompting the decision to expand the program.
Through this new partnership, Banner Desert and Banner Thunderbird will be able to treat an array of orthopedic injuries and disorders that affect the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons and cartilage.
Added Tom Dickson, CEO of Banner Thunderbird: “This partnership takes our orthopedic surgical program to the next level by bringing best-in-class orthopedic care to our community, and that’s great news for residents who depend on Banner Thunderbird for their medical care,” stated Banner Thunderbird CEO Tom Dickson. “I’m convinced that having the Banner CORE Center on our campus will make Banner Thunderbird the premiere destination for orthopedic care in our part of the Valley.”
