Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale to host auditions Aug. 9 for Phoenix Suns dancers

Dancers possessing the skill and enthusiasm to be a member of one of the premiere dance teams in the NBA are encouraged to audition for the 2014-15 Suns Dancers, beginning Saturday, Aug. 9.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Talking Stick Resort, 9800 E. Indian Bend Road, Scottsdale.

It is highly recommended that candidates interested in auditioning for the 2014-15 Suns Dancers attend the final remaining prep class scheduled for Aug. 6 in order to prepare for the audition process. Candidates looking to attend one of the prep classes can register on Suns.com/prep.

Auditions will consist of a preliminary round that includes learning a routine. Successful candidates will be asked to attend the semifinals on Sunday, Aug. 10, where dancers will participate in a photo shoot and a round of interviews, as well as perform routines in small groups for a panel of judges.

A two-day training camp for finalists will follow, with finals held on Saturday, Aug. 16. The 2014-15 Suns Dancers will be announced on Monday, Aug. 25 starting at 7 p.m. on Suns.com.

Candidates are asked to bring a completed registration form along with a resume and headshot (which will not be returned). Appropriate dance attire should be worn, including shoes with non-marking soles. Dancers must be 18 or older to participate in auditions.

Anyone looking for additional information regarding prep classes or the audition process should contact Kip Helt at khelt@suns.com.
