State honors Veteran Hall of Fame inductees

>Those planning to attend the annual Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame induction ceremony are reminded that early registration is Sept. 30 for a $10 savings on tickets. Tickets are $35 until that date and $45 from Oct. 1 until registrations close Oct. 19. The event is 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at the El Zaribah Auditorium, 552 N. 40th St., Phoenix. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.

This year's inductees include: John C. Keegan, of Peoria, US Army and US Navy veteran, as well as Ronald R. Capek, US Army veteran, Patrick R. Young, US Navy veteran, and Samuel E. "Sam" Young, Jr., US Air Force veteran, all of Glendale; Kelsey A. Begaye, Kaibeto, US Army veteran; Judith S. Beischel, Fountain Hills, US Coast Guard veteran; Bennett T. "Tom" Dingwall, Sierra Vista, US Army veteran; Linda A. Fulkerson, Mesa, US Navy veteran; Kathleen A. Laurier, Phoenix, US Navy veteran; Earl W. Milford, Fort Defiance, US Army veteran; Ronald J. Perkins, Chandler, US Air Force veteran; Herbert E. Pierpan, Scottsdale, US Marine Corps veteran; Luis R. Salaverria, Sierra Vista, US Army veteran; Lionel Sanchez, Phoenix, US Marine Corps and US Army veteran; Robert E. Sloncen, Wellton, US Coast Guard veteran; Robert B. Strain, Sierra Vista, US Air Force veteran; Ronald D. Tucker, Anthem, US Navy veteran; and Shirley Vega, Chandler, US Army veteran.

The Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame is sponsored by the Unified Arizona Veterans, Inc., based in Phoenix and recognized by the Arizona Department of Veterans' Services, the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Society and the Office of the Governor. The Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony recognizes and honors Arizona veterans who have honorably served their country through military service and who have continued to serve and inspire their fellow citizens with deeds and accomplishments throughout their lifetime. This will be the 12th class of veterans inducted since 2001.
