Sledge-hammer ground-breaking ceremony for a new Mesa college performing arts center

Mesa Community College, city and other officials as part of a ground-breaking ceremony for a new performing arts center, wielded sledge hammers and did some demolition work Aug. 16 at the former Harkins Theatre, 1520 S. Longmore in Mesa. The video shows them getting their hammers, posing for photos and then hitting a wall. The MCC Performing Arts Center is scheduled to open spring 2014. (Video by Richard H.
