HERE WE GO AGAIN....

Sounds as though even his most ardent supporters are getting sick and bored with Woebama's canned speeches, his high and mighty from above lectures, his condescending attitude toward others.  I agree.  Is his mission really to "perfect our union"...when did that start?  They don't want to perfect anything, they want jobs.

We all have heard the same old tired rhetoric from him since 2008, time to change the suit, or tennis shoes or the bird cage bottom or something because that supposedly once "soaring rhetoric" has landed on earth with a thud and nobody is uplifted, nobody is hopeful and nobody is impressed any longer.

Woebama NEVER tells the Black community what his recipe for success for them is, he just brags about his own.  Think they aren't watching him jetting around the Nation, hangin' with his celeb pals, hangin' with his one-percenters, on the golf course, living in the lap of luxury vacays...They get it.  He says one thing but does something altogether different.

But the dirty little secret is if they should climb up into the middle class, they won't need the dems and Woebama's of the world for their existence and they will be less likely to vote for progressives. Gotta keep em poor and dependent AND angry.

Justice4All... We should be all be offended.

Blacks Offended By Obama's Speech at Morehouse College

AP File

THE COLLEGE FIX: It’s not uncommon for African  Americans to criticize President Barack Obama’s job performance, and the latest  example of that comes on the heels of his commencement speech at Morehouse  College on Sunday.

During his keynote address at the historically  black, all-male college in Georgia, Obama called for better family values among  the black community and personal responsibility over complaints about  racism.

During his speech, Obama told the grads to “recognize the burdens you carry with you, but resist the temptation to use them  as excuses.”

“That’s what being an American is about.  Success may not come quickly or easily. But if you strive to do what’s right; if  you work harder and dream bigger; if you set an example in your own lives and do  your part to help meet the challenges of our time, then I am confident that,  together, we will continue the never-ending task of perfecting our  union.”

But some African Americans on Monday called  that message tired and insulting, saying it was rhetoric meant to pander to  white people.

“Trevor Coleman thinks it’s time for President  Obama to get a new speech for black audiences,” The Washington Post reports. “The personal responsibility finger-wagging, delivered most recently Sunday at  Morehouse College’s commencement, is getting old. … Coleman, a former  speechwriter for former Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm, said … he was  disappointed that Obama almost always defaults to the clean-up-your-act message  when talking to predominantly black audiences.”

Since most LIPS believe Comedy Central is a newsworthy source and watch late night comedians like Leno and Letterman for their information, then it is a real possibility Woebama may be in deep trouble.  The numerous scandals have filtered in.

Jay Leno has been hammering him, Jon Stewart and even Letterman has been taking pot shots at him. Surprised Now the LIPS are becoming informed....well, at least they are "aware" of the scandals and thuggery coming from this WH.  Late night humor like cartoons get straight to the heart of it.  Helps people to wake up from their comas.

(go to Mediaite.com to watch the video..it's refreshingly honest ....and funnyLaughing)

Leno started out by calling it casual Friday, so casual in the White House that “they’re casually going through everyones phone calls and records.” He then poked fun at Obama firing his acting IRS commissioner, for acting like “Richard Nixon’s IRS commissioner.” He continued lightly digging at Obama, suggesting he is a new type of Democrat, involved in three scandals, but “not one of them involves sex…that has never happened before.”

"Arguing with ignorance is like chewing on a brick...it is painful and useless"......anonymous Cool

Rush reminds us just how grandiose the promises of Woebama made to America if we would ONLY elect him to get the job done.  So, America being America...they said...we like what he is promising here and hired the guy.

BUT...early in his second term it seems NONE of his promises came to fruition.  The democrat controlled Congress GAVE Woebama nearly a TRILLION dollars to fulfill his grandiose promises of putting people back to work repairing roads and bridges, renovating schools, all noble enterprises except....he didn't use the TRILLION dollars for any of that. He and giggles who was supposed to oversee it used it as a UNION SUPPORTING slush fund to keep his donations coming in.

UNIONS are the democrats "backdoor" money laundering system so Woebama couldn't let them lose their jobs therefore most of the TRILLION dollars went to save public sector union jobs.  Remember...govt unemployment is right around 3% and they are hiring as many as they can as we speak. Woembama is setting up his army.

Justice4All...Those are the only jobs he has provided and that is where our STIMULESS money was spent.  Yet he is still out there saying...GIMME MORE, GIMME MORE....raise taxes for ME.

Flashback: Obama Promised His Stimulus Would Fix Crumbling Roads and Bridges May 24, 2013

RUSH: All of that money went to teachers and other public employee unions during the recession to make sure they were not laid off.  Eighty percent of the stimulus went to Democrat voters.  Eighty percent of the stimulus went to Democrat donors.  Eighty percent of the stimulus went to Democrat supporters. None of it went to rebuild bridges and none of it went to rebuild roads and none of it went to rebuild schools.

Somebody needs to tell Woebama, you can't have things both ways.  He does this with just about everything.  On one hand...the rich one-percenters...BAD...REALLY BAD, EVIL, and has done his best to turn Americans against each other by making them the strawman cause for everything wrong in our Nation.

Then up pops the OTHER hand that invites the filthy rich eeeevil one-percenters to visit the WH often, become members of his administration, he flies all over the Country to hang with them...which is it Mr President?

Are the eeeevil one-percenters like Mitt Romney the bad guys or not?  Or is it just the conservative one-percenters you dislike so intensely?  This is not a president who is happy being a president of all...no. He only likes SOME Americans SOME of the time.  And only likes SOME of the one-percenters that give to him and the rest are enemies of the State as he listed on his campaign website.  Creepy, no?

Justice4All  If this was Mitt Romney's beginning term and he hand selected a big time donor billionairess to oversee "commerce" and she inadvertantly FORGOT to disclose $80 MILLION dollars in income....well, we all know what the State Run Media would have to say about that don't we?  Hypocrites.  eh?

CRAZY STUFF

Obama Invites Illegal Aliens to WH, Won't Meet with ICE Union Head

Senior Senate Judiciary Committee member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) joined with House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) on Thursday to write directly to President Barack Obama to “express concern over the exclusion of immigration and customs enforcement officers and their representatives from the negotiations surrounding immigration reform.”

Goodlatte and Sessions wrote to Obama that the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Council, an organization that speaks for more than 7,000 ICE officers and agency staffers around the country, had “requested a meeting with the Administration three months ago to weigh in on immigration policy and share their firsthand concerns over the breakdown of interior enforcement.”

“To date, they have received no meeting invitation,” Goodlatte and Sessions wrote.

In their letter to Obama, Goodlatte and Sessions wrote that they want the president and his administration to “meet with representatives from the National ICE Council as soon as possible.” They said Obama and his administration need to “hear the views of their rank-and-file officers.”

National ICE Council president Chris Crane, an ICE officer himself and a former United States Marine, noted in recent Senate testimony that even Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has shunned him and other ICE officers, ignoring and refusing requests for meetings.

“No, senator,” Crane replied when asked if Napolitano or other administration officials would allow ICE agents to meet with them. “In fact what we see is that the special interest groups are brought into ICE headquarters, up at DHS headquarters. [They brag] about the special interests groups they’re bringing in to work on the policies and have completely shut us out.”

Even though the administration has blown off America’s immigration law enforcement officers from being able to have input into this debate, President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden met with at least three illegal immigrants pushing immigration reform in the Oval Office this week.

“President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden met in the Oval Office on Tuesday with three people who are in the country in violation of U.S. immigration laws but who have received ‘deferred action’ allowing them to stay in the country under the terms of a ‘memorandum’ issued unilaterally last year by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano,” CNS News’ Fred Lucas wrote this week.

“In all, Obama and Biden met on Tuesday with eight people who are advocating immigration reform, according to White House readout of the meeting,” Lucas added later in the story. “The White House readout listed three of those as having received ‘deferred action.’ Most others were legally in the United States with relatives who were illegal aliens.”

In a press release accompanying the announcement of his and Goodlatte’s letter to Obama, Sessions questioned the president’s decision to meet with illegal immigrants over law enforcement officers. “The fact that the President and the Vice President are hosting illegal immigrants in the White House while constricting citizen tours and refusing to meet with immigration officers says it all,” Sessions said. “The White House will not even grant ICE officers a low-level White House meeting but invites illegal immigrants into the Oval Office.”

Spokespeople for the White House have not responded to Breitbart News’ request for comment in response to the Goodlatte-Sessions letter.

The people who elected Obama in a landslide have loved him since day 1.  Some day the right will realize they are irrelevant in today's America.  Their party is divided and weak.  They need to resolve the civil war going on within their own party.  John McCain vs. Rand Paul?  The GOP vs. the Teabaggers.   Eventually one side will drive the other side off the playing field.  They can rebuild and become relevant again.

Let me re-post a corrected response to your continued nonsense.

Trading cupcakes & cookies for apples? This is what keeps you up at night, really?

It doesn't hurt to teach our children responsible eating habits, by the size of most of their parents they aren't getting taught this at home!

I hope michelle doesn't start promoting outdoor playtime to try to pry these overweight children away from video games!

Oh the humanity!

Isn't your party that doesn't believe in government interference?

Again, the parents of these overweight children are not acting in the best interest of their children's health. If m. obama wants to send a message to today's children about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, so be it. Were you against n. reagan's "just say no" campaign? What's the difference? Junk food is the main staple in a large number of children's lives why not try and change the thinking of the children today? If we teach today's children about the benefits of a healthy diet it will keep them out of the hospitals with obese issues, diabetic issues and the rest of the health issues that are attributed to being overweight and obese! Obesity is much more of a threat today, than drugs are in the long term!

Aide Involved In Benghazi Talking Points Scrubbing Promoted By  Obama

By Susan Crabtree

In a bold move that demonstrates his commitment to an inner circle of close  advisers — even those caught up in controversies, President Obama plans to  nominate Victoria Nuland to assistant secretary for European and Eurasian  affairs, the White House said Thursday.

Ms. Nuland is the State Department spokeswoman who, emails revealed last  week, expressed deep concerns about the implications of early versions of the “talking points” being prepared for the attack on the U.S. diplomatic outpost in  Benghazi, Libya. at one point asking that references to al Qaeda and previous  CIA warnings about threats in Libya be deleted from the document. She said  members of Congress might use them to criticize the State Department for not  providing beefed-up security at Benghazi, where U.S. Amb. J. Christopher Stevens  and three other Americans were killed.

No Wonder Republican Criticism of Obama Isn’t Working

From the "National Journal:"

"Henny Youngman, the late borscht belt comedian, told hundreds of politically incorrect jokes. One of them was his response when asked, “How’s your wife?” “Compared to what?” he’d say.

Many women find the joke tasteless, but it can be a useful framework for thinking about national politics. Americans may not be ecstatic about President Obama and his policies, but compared with the Republicans, they think Obama doesn’t look so bad. This might partly explain why, even with all of the controversies engulfing the Obama administration these days, the president doesn’t appear to be hurt at all, at least as measured by job-approval ratings."

Obamacare - No one knows the true cost!

Gee, isn't this too bad.  The unions (who put Obama on his pedestal) are now complaining about Obamacare, even though they overwhelmingly supported it.  Maybe if they would have read the bill before buying what Obama was selling, they would have know that this all would happen.

Some unions now angry about health care overhaul

WASHINGTON (AP) — Some labor unions that enthusiastically backed President Barack Obama's health care overhaul are now frustrated and angry, fearful that it will jeopardize benefits for millions of their members.

Union leaders warn that unless the problem is fixed, there could be consequences for Democrats facing re-election next year.

"It makes an untruth out of what the president said — that if you like your insurance, you could keep it," said Joe Hansen, president of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union. "That is not going to be true for millions of workers now."

The problem lies in the unique multiemployer health plans that cover unionized workers in retail, construction, transportation and other industries with seasonal or temporary employment. Known as Taft-Hartley plans, they are jointly administered by unions and smaller employers that pool resources to offer more than 20 million workers and family members continuous coverage, even during times of unemployment.

The union plans were already more costly to run than traditional single-employer health plans.

But Obama's Affordable Care Act has added to that cost — for the unions' and other plans — by requiring health plans to cover dependents up to age 26, eliminate annual or lifetime coverage limits and extend coverage to people with pre-existing conditions.

"We're concerned that employers will be increasingly tempted to drop coverage through our plans and let our members fend for themselves on the health exchanges," said David Treanor, director of health care initiatives at the Operating Engineers union.

LIBERALISM

Trading cupcakes for cookies? This is what keeps you up at night, really?

It doesn't hurt to teach our children responsible eating habits, by the size of most of their parents they aren't getting taught this at home!

I hope michelle doesn't start promoting outdoor playtime to try to pry these overweight children away from video games!

Oh the humanity!

LIBERALISM

TERRORIST ALERT!!  Be on the watch for COOKIES AND CUPCAKES!!!  Laughing

MEchelle is a prime example of "liberalism" at its worst.  Seriously. Like all hardcore liberals, she fully believes she knows more than anyone else in this Nation about how to raise our kids, how to feed them and now how to teach them.  Such arrogance.  Who is MEchelle?  She was a short term lawyer who ran a scam office in a hospital for awhile then became a politician of sorts by osmosis.  WOW. That makes her an expert on.........????

Targeting cookies and cupcakes?  Are you kidding?? What will be the next enemy of the State...ice cream??   Stop trying to indoctrinate our kids with your food issues.  Go get help.  Maybe MEchelle can't look at a picture of a cupcake without needing one, but I bet our kids do just fine and if it gets their attention so how is that a bad thing?  They don't obsess over food like Mechelle. She is going to create a generation of anorexics making them think they are ALL fatties.  Not ALL kids are fatties.  Some of em could use an extra cookie or two. Instead of labeling foods as bad making the kids feel "bad" for eating them...how about just encouraging "moderation"?  Nah, too common sense for her.

Govt Indoctrination is a very dangerous method of control.

Justice4All...Earth to MEchelle... Leave our kiddies alone PLEASE!  Libs need to Stay out of our business, stay out of our personal lives and stay out of our schools.

It is obvious Holder the WITHHOLDER needs to be canned.  Nobody at this point can deny that.  Yet, even though Woebama keeps saying "he wasn't told" he keeps those who did the dirty deeds close around him AND he has them investigate themselves.  Nope...no dirty hands there.

Now, either he is completely incompetent and mindless or he knows EXACTLY what is going on around him and he is choosing to look the other way BECAUSE...they are doing EXACTLY what he wants them to do.  I vote for the latter.

The IRS Commish visited the WH 118 times, don't think they ever talked about the swirling scandal that would effect Woebama's re-election?  Or that his BFF Holder never mentioned to Woebama he was going after his number one nemesis FNC? (either FNC or Limbaugh has reached number one, not sure which one...) Is this still America??  Not so sure. But we can all be sure Woebama is involved up to his eyeballs because he would never stand for anyone being in charge over him, making these kinds of decisions without his approval.  His ego would never allow that.

THE FACE OF ARROGANCE

What part of "public servant" do these libs not understand in our govt? What is the definition of "Servant" ...to SERVE...in this case...TO SERVE THE PUBLIC.  Doesn't really get any clearer than that.  WE pay THEM, they do not pay US, therefore...they WORK for US.  Right??  True??

Ms Arrogance (Lois) obviously doesn't agree with that.  She believes herself to be ABOVE those her pay her salary (you and me).  She is knee deep in the IRS scandal (not her first scandal rodeo) and for her efforts WE have paid her over $750,000 in the past four Woebama years.  Heckuva job Lois Lerner, we will give you an excessive salary ($177,000) AND Bonuses!!!! ...for targeting and election engineering.....

Lois has REFUSED to testify and now has REFUSED to resign. Surprised The very face of arrogance. Why not just fire her??  But, the govt being the inept quantity that it is...they said fine, go on a taxpayer funded paid vacay until this blows over and then of course, they will surely give her another PROMOTION and pay hike.  That's how they work..i.e. Sarah Hall Ingram now in charge of you and me and our healthcare.

IRS's Lerner Placed On Paid Vacation... and Refuses to Resign!

AP

WASHINGTON –  First  she refused to testify. Now Lois Lerner, the IRS official at the center of the  tax agency scandal, is refusing to resign, according to a top Republican  senator.

Sources confirmed to Fox News earlier  Thursday that Lerner, the head of the IRS division that oversaw the unit  targeting conservative groups, had been placed on administrative leave, with  pay.

But Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, claimed  she was only put in that status after refusing to step down.

He said the commissioner was in his right to  demand her resignation, and said taxpayers should not continue to pay her salary  indefinitely.

“My understanding is the new acting IRS  commissioner asked for Ms. Lerner’s resignation, and she refused to resign.   She was then put on administrative leave instead,” Grassley said in a  statement. “The IRS owes it to taxpayers to resolve her situation quickly.   The agency needs to move on to fix the conditions that led to the  targeting debacle."

Capitol Hill sources said Lerner, the  director of exempt organizations, was placed on paid leave Thursday, amid calls  from some lawmakers for her to be suspended or fired. In her absence, Ken  Corbin, the current deputy director of the submission processing, wage and  investment division, will take over her duties, according to an internal IRS  memo obtained by Fox News.

Lerner, the official who first acknowledged  the controversial IRS practice earlier this month, asserted her innocence at a  House hearing on Wednesday. She then refused to testify, citing her Fifth  Amendment right against self incrimination. The move angered many who say she  should have been forced to answer why the tax agency targeted conservative  groups applying for tax exempt status.

Republican leaders of that committee,  though, now say she waived that right by giving a statement and want to haul her  back to testify.

Pressure has been mounting on the  administration to take tough action against Lerner, after two other IRS  officials were pushed out in the wake of the scandal.

In a letter earlier Thursday to IRS Acting  Commissioner Daniel Werfel, Sens. Carl Levin, D-Mich., and John McCain, R-Ariz.,  asked the agency to remove Lerner from office and said they had “lost confidence  in her ability to fulfill her duties.”

It's unclear whether Republicans will  succeed in trying to recall her before the House Oversight and Government Reform  Committee. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the panel, said through an  aide Thursday that her Fifth Amendment assertion is "no longer valid," since she  delivered remarks at the start of Wednesday's hearing.

That hearing was never technically  adjourned, and Republicans hope to bring her back.

Others, though, say she was in her right to  defend herself and subsequently invoke the right to remain silent.

The IRS has had a series of missteps that  have not only publicly marred the reputation of the IRS, but also called into  question what the White House knew about the scandal and when they knew  it.

Separately, Tea Party-related groups who  claim they were targeted by the tax agency have started filing lawsuits this  week against the IRS. In some cases they are asking for the IRS to admit  wrongdoing. In others, they are seeking monetary claims.

"It's extremely troubling that it has taken  this long for Lois Lerner to removed from the top exempt position at the IRS,” Jay Sekulow, chief counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice, the group  suing on behalf of some Tea Party groups, said in a statement to  FoxNews.com.

Sekulow said instead of putting Lerner on  administrative leave, his group is calling for her to be fired.

Fox News' Chad Pergram contributed to this  report.

Jane Freeman will be sorely missed

The folks who bought in Sun City in the very beginning earned the nickname "pioneers." They came with a spirit and sense of adventure that often was viewed with disdain by family members left behind. It just wasn't the thing people did back then. And becuase it was such a departure from the "real world," when those first buyers bought into the concept of a new way to live, they very often found solace in growing close to neighbors and embracing close bonds and ties to those they barely knew.

Sun City's first 25 years was a mixture of trying to build something from scratch. Clearly the DEVCO Corporation and especially John Meeker played a huge role, but to ignore those "pioneers" would have been such a travesty. And that is where Jane Freeman played such a significant role. For Sun City's 25 Anniversary Jane and Glen Sanberg wrote Jubilee, a historical tribute to those who made it happen.

From that, came the birth of the Sun Cities Area Historical Society. As noted above, Jane rescued all of the materials that DEVCO was about to throw in the trash. Her commitment to document and record was unmatched. Hundreds of oral histories accompamied by thousands of articles cut, duplicated and filed have given the Museum a perspective of those earliest days that would have been lost forever. Throw in the volumes of irreplaceable DEVCO artifacts and one quickly comes to appreciate just how much this remarkable woman gave to the community she loved.

It begs the question, at least for me, why are some people so driven to give back? To look for the inherent good in both people and places? To become an addition to society rather than always looking at the glass half empty? But alas, a question perhaps far to deep for me; in the end, i find myself more gravitating to the idea that each of us has the potential to make the world a little better place to live...something akin to Jane's efforts.

The other day i was being interviewd by a college student from England who is doing a piece on Sun City (as an aside, I was amazed at how well Skype worked) In any event, he asked me if there were any stories relative to Sun City and how it helped make it so unique. I of course mentioned Jane, but the more i thought about it, the more i realized Sun City has been filled by people and those same stories of giving and living a life filled with looking for the good in people, not just sitting on the sidelines whinning.

Odd isn't it? When we lose someone who is such an inspiration, who was willing to dedicate their lives to giving back way more than they ever took from life, you find yourself in a bit of self-reflection.

Obama still doesn't want to recognize the war on terror.  Still wants to close Gitmo, transfer prisoners to U.S. and try them in military tribunals or is it civilian courts.  If the restrictions he's placed on drones are dhered to, that's the end of the drone program.  Sure.  Now he wants to capture high value targets and try them in civilian courts. Who Else Took The Fifth Amendment?

More than four years after he left office, former President George W. Bush's approval rating now equal President Obama's, according to a new Washington Post/ ABC poll.

Forty-seven percent of Americans say they now approve of the former president, while 53 percent disapprove, according to the poll, which surveyed 1,000 adults from April 17-21. Mr. Obama's approval rating also stands at 47 percent.

Who Else Took The Fifth Amendment?

(CNN) — Americans are divided over whether President Barack Obama or his predecessor has performed better in the White House, according to a new national poll.

And a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Friday also indicates in the battle for Congress, Republicans hold large advantages over the Democrats among independents, men and blue-collar whites. The poll also indicates that Republicans are much more enthusiastic than Democrats to vote.

By 47 to 45 percent, Americans say Obama is a better president than George W. Bush. But that two point margin is down from a 23 point advantage one year ago.

“Democrats may want to think twice about bringing up former President George W. Bush’s name while campaigning this year,” says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

If President Obama Was A CEO, DOJ Would Hold Him Accountable For  Scandals

AP

If President Obama was a CEO, DOJ would hold him accountable for  scandals

By Hans von Spakovsky, Daniel Dew

IRS… Benghazi… AP… the scandals are mounting in D.C.  Who’s to  blame?

Well, if you use the standards that federal prosecutors apply to  corporations, the president would be held legally responsible for any wrongdoing  by federal workers—whether he knew what they were doing or not.

Like Sergeant Shultz from “Hogan’s Heroes,” President Obama insists that he  knew nothing about the IRS targeting Tea Party and other conservative  groups.  He only learned about it from media coverage of the Treasury’s  Inspector General Report.

Similarly, he knew nothing about the Justice Department’s subpoena of phone  records of AP reporters and editors.

As for Benghazi, we now know that his subordinates in the White House and the  State Department edited the talking points that misled the public about what  happened on September 11, 2012 although we still don’t know who in the line of  command nixed any attempt to rescue Ambassador Stevens and the other Americans  under attack by terrorists.

Let’s suppose he’s telling the truth: The president had no idea of what his  subordinates were up to in any of these instances. How, then, could he be held  legally responsible for what happened?

If Mr. Obama were CEO of a corporation rather than commander-in-chief, the  Justice Department would certainly hold him accountable.

For years, DOJ has used a “responsible corporate officer doctrine” to  prosecute business owners and corporate officers for crimes committed by their  subordinates—even when the bosses had no knowledge of, much less involvement in,  the criminal conduct.

To convict a business executive, all the Justice Department has to do is  prove that (1) an employee did something illegal on the job and (b) the  executive was above that employee in the corporate organizational chart.

HERE WE GO AGAIN....

Uh-Oh...Woebama is in big trouble.  You can always tell when he's losing his base when he drags out the War on Women or GITMO closing.  He desperately needs to CHANGE THE SUBJECT.

I heard a little bit of his BIG speech (snore zzzzz....) railing away about GITMO and how darned expensive it is to keep it open. Transfer them into our prison population, giving them American Constitutional rights, very smart.  Yeah, great plan Woebama, great!!  Most of them should be let out soon in that case for "overcrowding" "time served" or "good behavior" or his favorite excuse now "the sequester".  Or heck, Janet box of rocks will just sign them out and give them a kiss on the cheek when they walk by.

Does this guy EVER think things through??  Does he think it's free to house prisoners in America's prisons?  Is he going to put them in with the general population (so they can radicalize them) or pay to keep them isolated?  His second excuse is it still makes people not like us. Can't make this up.  And we...care why?

Justice4All...  Woebama droning Muslim terrorists and innocent bystanders doesn't annoy them?  Oh, he's going to....DRONE LESS.  Laughing  Not kill QUITE as many of our enemies, just some of em so they will like us better.  Sure... that'll work. Can't make this stuff up.  He is truly desperate now.

Obama and Heckler Plead to Close Gitmo

In a speech at the National Defense University in Washington, DC., President Barack Obama called on Congress to permit him to close the terror detention facility at the U.S. Navy base in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.

The president also acknowledged that the Ft. Hood shooting of 2009 was an act of "Islamic Jihad." The administration has long resisted references to Islamic extremism, and referred to the Ft. Hood shooting as "workplace violence."

In a speech that was billed as a reset of U.S. policy on terrorism, Obama emphasized the changing nature of terrorism, stating that recent attacks in Boston and Benghazi were not ordered by Al-Qaeda from its old bases in Afghanistan and Pakistan, but that Al-Qaeda "affiliates" in other parts of the world had arisen as threats.

He connected Islamic terror to domestic attacks such as the Oklahoma City bombing of 1995, and an incident in February 2010 in which a small aircraft was crashed into an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) building in Austin, TX. That attack had been widely--and falsely--blamed on the Tea Party. (Shortly thereafter, the IRS began targeting Tea Party groups for review and excessive questioning as they applied for non-profit status.)

President Obama began with an impassioned defense of the policy of targeting killing through the use of drones, including when U.S. citizens have joined terror organizations overseas. (In a nod to Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, who staged a dramatic filibuster on drone policy in March, the president made clear that he would not consider it constitutional to use drones to target and kill Americans on U.S. soil.)

Much of his defense of the policy, one analyst noted, was couched in entirely defensive terms. The president acknowledged that civilian deaths in fighting terrorists were regrettable, but that such deaths would be far greater if the U.S. had to use ground troops to fight terrorists, and that waiting to react to terrorists after they had already struck the U.S. homeland would be unacceptable. Therefore drones were the least bad policy.

Next, the president described global diplomacy as the second prong of a three-pronged strategy against terror. It was important, he said, that the U.S. remain engaged throughout the world, isolating tyrannical regimes and supporting democratic movements. He noted the importance of defending U.S. diplomats abroad, and defended his record on Benghazi, insisting that he had followed all of the recommendations of the State Department's Accountability Review Board (ARB), which has been criticized in recent congressional hearings.

Finally, President Obama discussed the problem of home-grown extremism, a problem that has leapt back into public awareness after the Boston Marathon attacks. He said that government had to strike "the right balance" between national security on the one hand, and privacy and a free press on the other. He said that he was "troubled by the possibility that leak investigations" might chill the free press, and called on Congress to pass a "media shield law"--the same sort of law Obama once supported but then abandoned early in his term.

The goal, the president said, was to find a way to fight terrorism "without keeping America on a perpetual wartime footing." In that vein, the president turned towards the widely-anticipated announcement that he would seek--once again--to close the terror detention facility at Guantánamo Bay. The president originally sought to close the prison in his first year in office, but opposition from the defense establishment, as well as from Congress, prevented him from doing so--a fact the president emphasized, with evident bitterness.

Sounding a plaintive tone as he pleaded his case, the president said that "there was no justification beyond politics" for refusing to close Guanánamo--a line that drew sustained applause from the audience, as well as heckling from a woman who attempted to draw attention to "102 people who are on hunger strike" there. (The heckler was reported by other observers to be Medea Benjamin, a founder of Code Pink and frequent gadfly.)

"History will cast a harsh judgment on this aspect of our fight against terrorism, and those of us who refuse to end it," the president said, criticizing the long detentions of prisoners held without formal charges. He did not acknowledge the fact that cases have slowed down since his administration chose to attempt civilian trials.

Interrupted again by the heckler, the President, said: "The voice of that woman is worth paying attention to," noting that they both agreed on the fundamental importance of closing the Guantánamo prison facility.

Jane Freeman will be sorely missed

I'm certain a good number of you will have no idea who this woman is or was, but for anyone who has visited the Del Webb Sun Cities Museum, the name should strike a chord. She was the heart and soul of the organiztion for more than 25 years. More importantly, without her tenacity the museum would not exist today. Rather than blather on, her is a brief piece written by an old friend that says it all:

"Jane Freeman the founder and former president of the Sun Cities  Area Historical Society  /  Del Webb Sun Cities Museum, died May  17, 2013.   Jane had a deep involvement with the historical  society up through the decline of her health a few years ago.   Jane earned the title of the "Dumpster Diving Diva" as she  climbed into a large dumpster filled with old Sun City photos,  brochures, and other materials.  That trash bin, plus files that  hadn't been discarded yielded a treasure trove of some 3,000  8x10" photos taken since 1960 in Sun City.  Jane led the effort to purchase one of the first five models Del Webb built in Sun  City and convinced James Boswell to donate $50,000.00 needed for  the purchase.  She was also involved in the Sun Health  organization.  The museum will have a memorial for Jane at our  annual meeting in November.  As of this date, we do not have the date or time of this meeting and we will notify you when our  meeting will occur."

Rest in peace Jane, you have left a legacy that will bring people smiles and enjoyment for years to come.

Re:INGLORIOUS Radical Leftwing Extremists....Hooligans

Could it just be a coincidence that while our resident "claimer" to be against ALL govt but always sticks up for the leftwing portion is complaining about "cut and paste" posters and now we have a new thread complaining about it too??  Hmmm...but the thing is...our resident complainer cuts and pastes too...so is there a point to all this librul whining?  eh?Laughing

Did anyone happen to catch Prime Minister Cameron's press conference this a.m. regarding the unspeakable heinous attack on a solider by Islamic Extremist Terrorists?  They tried or actually succeeded to behead this soldier who was merely walking back to his base.

The rhetoric spewing from one of them was watch out America, they are coming.  I bet they are, just as they always have been despite what Woebama says.

But Cameron's response was absolutely refreshingly inspiring and brave.

The Brits have Grit.  He called it what it is, he didn't have to say we will investigate and find out.  Cameron had the courage to come straight out and call it a TERRORIST ATTACK and said they would not stand for it.  He also said they have had it happen before, they beat them back and they will do so again.  Also, just a side note, the police officers are now "armed" in GB.  Which was a good thing because these radical murderers were armed too....illegally.

Justice4All...WOW, impressive....why doesn't Woebama talk like that??

Interesting the obampress all are claiming they knew...they knew the IRS was doing something illegal and yet....none of them bothered to report on it.  WHY?  Oh that's right...it was election time and if they had done their jobs, Woebama wouldn't be in office today. Got it.

Justice4All....Wouldn't that be considered to be "dereliction of duty" or "journalistic malpractice"??  Or is it because they aren't really journalists, they are just Woebamabots?

Re:HERE'S THE PROBLEM....

Here's the problem with O'Scamocare in a nutshell.  Ask thine physician people.  They are the ones who have been delegated as ENFORCERS of this mess on the medical side and nobody in the WH bothered to consult them.

The IRS is taking care of the punitive side and HHS with death panels but the physicians are being put into a terrible place whereas they have to abide by what some cocky punk bureaucrat full of their own power in DC thinks is best for their patients.  That's just wrong.  Our doctors need to be in charge of our healthcare, nobody else.  Separation of powers should most definitely apply to our individual healthcare decisions.

With the IRS and DOJ (dept of JOKE) scandals, we now fully get the picture we can't TRUST ANY OF THEM to do what is right for the American public, they are all about just what is good for their party chiefs and their own little empires of power over WE THE PEOPLE.  That is what happens when govt gets too big to control, it starts controlling us.

Justice4All.....The end justifies the means, cheat, lie, steal, target and punish is the Woebama doctrine....but he doesn't know it.

Under ObamaCare, IRS Is Creating Chaos For Doctors, Patients

By CHARLES WILLEY, M.D.

IRS Illegally Usurps Congress with New Law in Obamacare

As an internist, I have dedicated my 30-year career to advancing the  long-term health of all of my patients, one patient at a time.

Unfortunately, the greatest barrier to this goal is government intervention  into my professional judgment, my office management and my patient care. This  has been increasingly true long before enactment of the onerous Affordable Care  Act (ACA), but it's especially true now.

There are no more than 5 individuals that have hijacked this board for their political purposes. They post vile hateful posts daily which includes racist posts and hatred towards our government to the extreme. These individuals use multiple names and post on both sides of the the aisle to try to get "real" people who still come to this board (which most have been run off) into arguments with them. They intentionally get "real" people banned because they are a threat to them if they don't agree with their hateful racist views. I feel these people are a real threat to our country in light of the enviroment we live in today. I don't think your advertisers want to be associated with this type of board. A letter will also be sent to Joe Smyth who is the CEO at Independent Newsmedia Inc. USA. Also there are many copyright violations that are not being addressed. Additionally, there are posts on this board that Homeland security may be interested in.

It proves that I have not flip-flopped on my beliefs. It proves that I align myself with neither party. Quite frankly, a picture is worth a thousand words in your example. All the commentary is in the title of the thread itself.

Nothing will change unless we start at the top and relieve the elder statesmen of their duties. This is where you have to start at the top to invoke a difference in the status quo, which has being going on for entirely too long.

At the very least, I am here right now defending my position, in my own words and thoughts. Can't say that about the true master's of the "Cut & Paste", I'm just saying..........

Lose on immigration?  No change is a win for Hillary.  Who do you think elected Obama?  Why do you think he avoided it in his first term?  By 2016 minorities will have even more free government benefits, free health insurance and become the majority of voters.  Obama will be their hero and Hillary will take over.   Maybe some day the right will wake up and figure out why they lost.

Who Else Took The Fifth Amendment?

WASHINGTON (AP) — The baseball star, the Hollywood 10, Oliver North. And Lois Lerner of the IRS.

The official enmeshed in a probe of the tax agency is the latest on a roll call of witnesses called before Congress who refused to answer lawmakers' questions.

A few well-known names who invoked Fifth Amendment protections against self-incrimination:

___

White House gate crashers Michaele and Tareq Salahi declined to tell lawmakers in 2010 how they sailed past the Secret Service to attend President Barack Obama's first state dinner uninvited.

They were shadowed to the dinner by a film crew for a show then in the making, the "Real Housewives of D.C." Mrs. Salahi became a regular and also appeared on "Celebrity Rehab."

The couple later divorced, after he accused her of an affair with rock guitarist Neal Schon of Journey.

Neither faced criminal charges for party crashing.

___

Former St. Louis Cardinals slugger Mark McGwire, one of the biggest stars of baseball, wouldn't answer questions at a 2005 hearing on steroid use.

He was asked again and again: Did he use illegal steroids to hit a then-record 70 home runs in 1998?

Choking back tears at times, McGwire said his lawyers advised him not to answer. "I'm not here to talk about the past," he said.

Years later, McGwire acknowledged use of steroids and human growth hormone.

___

Lobbyist Jack Abramoff invoked the Fifth Amendment at a 2004 hearing about his suspicious dealings and exploitation of Indian tribes with casinos.

Senators' accusations of "greed run amok" blossomed into a giant bribery and influence-peddling scandal that led to more than 20 convictions of lobbyists, lawmakers, congressional aides and others.

After serving a 3½-year prison sentence, Abramoff declared that most of the senators who lobbed questions at him that day were hypocrites who had taken thousands of dollars from his clients and firms.

___

Former Enron chief Kenneth Lay and four other executives refused to talk in 2002 about the giant energy company's sudden financial collapse.

After being berated for more than an hour by senators who called him a con artist and a carnival barker, Lay read a brief statement declaring his "profound sadness about what has happened to Enron" and asking lawmakers not to assume he was invoking the Fifth because he had "something to hide."

Lay was convicted of fraud and conspiracy charges in 2006 and died before his sentencing.

___

Charles Keating Jr. declined to answer questions in 1989 at a hearing on the collapse of his Lincoln Savings and Loan, which wiped out many investors' life savings and cost taxpayers $3.4 billion.

Keating departed in a Cadillac limousine, leaving behind a press release that blamed the bank's troubles on bad federal regulations and took a swipe at lawmakers' competence.

The case was a flashpoint in the larger S&L bankruptcy crisis and sparked the Keating Five ethics investigation of senators who intervened with regulators on the banker's behalf.

Keating was convicted of fraud and served five years in prison.

___

Oliver North and John M. Poindexter, national security aides to President Ronald Reagan, initially pleaded the Fifth during the Iran-Contra hearings in 1986.

North, a Marine lieutenant colonel, said lawyers advised him to "avail myself of the protections provided by that same Constitution that I have fought to support and defend."

North and Poindexter later testified in televised hearings under a deal that promised them limited immunity. That grant of immunity eventually would lead an appeals court to overturn their criminal convictions.

___

Playwright and screenwriter Lillian Hellman in 1952 was among those blacklisted because they refused to testify before Sen. Joseph McCarthy's communist-hunting committee.

"I cannot and will not cut my conscience to fit this year's fashions," she told the House Committee on Un-American Activities in a letter.

Other film industry figures who took the Fifth and were sentenced to jail for contempt of Congress became known as the "Hollywood 10."

McCarthy branded those who refused to talk "Fifth Amendment communists."

Just 18 hours earlier, The Washington Post's Ezra Klein and Josh Marshall of  Talking Points Memo were spotted headed into the West Wing with a gaggle of  other left-wing columnists.

It should be noted that Klein doesn’t specifically call for Lois Lerner to be  fired, but both are calling for "firings" at the IRS within a half-hour of one  another.

Of course we would, if we had a system that allows for that, since we don't ,it would take several election cycles to replace all 535. I would have thought you would have known that, or are you also a practitioner of journalistic sensationalism?

Think about it.

If we were able to throw a handful of incumbents to the curb the next election, I want to believe the rest of the worthless do nothings would fall into line and realize who it is they truly work for and fear for their jobs the next election!

Michelle Said to be Considering an Extended Vacation

by Keith Koffler on May 22, 2013

With scandal swirling about the White House, First Lady Michelle Obama may be considering an extended exit from Washington this summer, fleeing for weeks to the Obamas’ traditional summer haven, Martha’s Vineyard.

According to the Boston Globe, “Michelle Obama and the children may be on the island for an extended period.” But the president would hardly be suffering by comparison. He may come up on weekends and then stay for two weeks at the end of the summer, the Globe reports.

The White House has not commented on the Obamas’ vacation plans.

The Obamas are said to be eyeing a house in Farm Neck on the Vineyard. If they land there, the president will have easy access to the lovely Farm Neck Golf Club and Cafe. Here’s the view from the tee on the third hole.

Screen Shot 2013-05-22 at 9.18.05 AM

It appears Michelle may be skipping her usual spring excursion overseas, which in the past has included stops at a luxury resort in Spain and in South Africa. Instead, she’ll accompany her husband next month on an official trip to Africa.

But not to worry. She already spent two weeks in Hawaii this past winter and jetted out for some Apsen skiing in February.

The Obamas opted out of their annual trip to Martha’s Vineyard in 2012, likely because they were campaigning and because a luxury sojourn there would have conflicted with the campaign image Obama was trying to project as a fighter for the middle class.

Re:Upcoming immigration reform bill

Washington is a complete embarrassment to the very people who have fought and died for this country. Maybe that's the problem, too many silver spoon fed, entitled jack-asses who never put on a uniform for this once great country. They've never had to fight for anything in their entire entitled lives!

Immigration bill backers say not all back-taxes will be paid

The Senate immigration bill’s authors  acknowledged Tuesday that their legislation does not require illegal immigrants  to pay all back taxes, saying it would be too difficult to make them ante up  everything they might owe.

Sen. Charles E. Schumer, the New  York Democrat who is chief sponsor of the bill, said illegal immigrants by  definition are living in the shadows, and requiring them to reconstruct their  pay history could be tough — and potentially keep many of them from  legalization.

The bill says that before illegal immigrants can apply for initial legal  status, they must have “satisfied any applicable federal tax liability.” That is  defined as “all federal income taxes assessed.”

The problem is that the IRS will only have assessed taxes on work it knows about. At least half of all  illegal immigrants work off the books, meaning their wages never came to the tax  agency’s attention, and the illegal immigrants didn’t pay taxes on it.

Mr. Schumer said requiring all back  taxes to be paid could prevent as many as 5 million illegal immigrants from  getting legal status.

IRS's Own Internal Investigation Ended 6 Months Before Election, Hidden From Congress

by John Nolte266

In a startling exchange Wednesday during the IRS hearings before the House Oversight and Reform Committee, America learned that the IRS knew in May of 2012 that its employees were targeting conservative organization with paralyzing harassment and Kafka-esque audits. Although the IRS knew this, they did not report this information to Congress.

HURT: IRS Officials, I Hope You Look Good in Jumpsuits …

AP

You know you are a serious societal pestilence when even politicians can kick  you around. Which is why the Senate Finance Committee called Steven Miller,  former acting IRS commissioner, to testify about the agency’s scheme targeting  conservatives for tax punishment.

Right away, Mr. Miller got down to the business of reminding everyone why we  all hate the IRS so much.

“Unfortunately, given time considerations,” he began, “the IRS was unable to  prepare written testimony.”

Given time considerations? Unable to prepare? Are you kidding us?

Have you ever heard of April 15? Can you imagine if we called up the IRS and  said, “Given time considerations, we were unable to prepare our tax filings  today.”

Under the threat of a gun and promise of jail time, we file our taxes  precisely on time every year. Without fail. Without excuse. Without complaint.  Everyone has heard the nightmares of ruinous IRS penalties aimed at destroying  lives, families and livelihoods for missing those deadlines.

But given the “time constraints,” you weren’t able to prepare? Tell that to  the thousands of small business owners who have gone bankrupt because they  couldn’t make payments on time. Or failed to file proper tax returns.

Mr. Miller has hooded eyes with a thick carpet of hair creeping down his  forehead like a bed of meatballs sliding off a mound of spaghetti. He became  unhinged when Sen. Orrin G. Hatch, Utah Republican, accused him of “lying by  omission” for not telling the senator about the scheme when he first asked about  it.

I did not lie,” Meatball spat at Mr. Hatch. “I did not lie.”

How would that go over with the IRS? “I did not lie. I just didn’t include  that particular part of income in my filing. But I didn’t ever say specifically  that I didn’t earn it. I just didn’t tell you about it.”

Yeah, hope you look good in an orange jumpsuit, buddy.

Then Meatball tried blaming the scandal on Congress and taxpayers for not  giving the agency enough money. Then he blamed it on people inside the agency  who were just “trying to be more efficient.”

Good luck with that one, too. “The reason I did not pay my taxes is because,  well, I didn’t have enough money. And I was trying to be more efficient by  eliminating this one huge expense called TAXES!”

See you in Sing Sing!

Then came ex-Commissioner Douglas H. Shulman. One look at him and it is no  wonder why he got into the tax-collection business. Chiseled nose, gray, pasty  face and dead eyes. The kind of guy who is loathed by everyone around him and he  knows it. He is used to being spit upon in public. Doesn’t even look down at the  spittle on his suit anymore. He loves to punish people who make just one little  mistake — no matter how innocent.

It is why even Jesus struggled to love the tax collectors.

Committee Chairman Max Baucus inquired why nobody in the agency had been  fired over the gross violations.

Meatball and the Snake just sat there, staring. Wordless. Mr. Baucus asked  again. Meatball thumbed the edge of his glass of water, staring down at the  table like a child avoiding his mother’s scolding glare. The room seemed to  groan in discomfort.

After a long silence, Mr. Baucus tried again.

“Well, what action did you take?”

Meatball stammered and stuttered a bunch of bureaucratic psychobabble.

They did some training, held some workshops and collated some files, he said  in all seriousness. Somebody got “transferred,” Meatball said, before correcting  himself and saying the person was actually “reassigned.”

Oh, said Meatball, and then there was the “oral counseling.”

            By Todd Beamon

The Justice Department seized the telephone records of at  least five Fox News reporters and several White House staffers in connection  with the 2009 probe into a former State Department contractor who is accused of  leaking classified information to Fox journalist James Rosen.

The  disclosure came in a document filed in the case of the former contractor,  Stephen Jin-Woo Kim, on Oct. 13, 2011, The  New Yorker reported today.

Latest: Is Benghazi a  Cover-Up? Is Obama at the Heart of It? Vote Here
Kim  is a former State Department contractor accused of violating the Espionage Act  for allegedly leaking classified information to Rosen.

Ronald C. Machen  Jr., the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia who is prosecuting the case,  seized records associated with at least five telephone numbers associated with  Fox, two numbers at the White House, and one that has the same area code and  exchange as Rosen’s personal cellphone number.

The last four digits of  that telephone number are redacted in the document, The New Yorker reports.

In all, Machen had seized records associated with more than 30 different  phone numbers, according to the filing.

The last four digits of each  telephone line targeted by the Obama administration are redacted in the filing.  Two of the numbers begin with area code 202 and the exchange 456, which,  according to current and former Obama administration officials, are used  exclusively by the White House.

The telephone number of the White House  switchboard is 202-456-1414.
At least five other numbers targeted by  Justice include the area code 202 and the exchange 824.

The phone number  for the Fox News Washington bureau, which is publicly available, is  202-824-0001, The New Yorker reports.

Rosen's work number at Fox begins  with the same area code and exchange.

"Because that information is  sealed, I can't confirm the owner or subscriber for any of those records,"  William Miller, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in D.C., told The New  Yorker.

Asked if the phone numbers of any reporters had been targeted in  the Kim investigation, Miller told the magazine that he could not comment.

The Washington Post reported on Monday that Justice seized telephone records  and emails from Rosen's personal account on Gmail in its inquiry of Kim.

In the search warrant for the data, Justice described Rosen as "an aider, and  abettor, and/or co-conspirator" in violating the Espionage Act, noting that the  crime was punishable by 10 years in prison.

Rosen was not indicted in the case, but the suggestion in a government document  that a reporter could be guilty of espionage for engaging in routine reporting  is unprecedented,  The New Yorker reports, and has alarmed many journalists  and civil libertarians.

The case also has been cited in Justice's recent  secret seizure of two months of telephone records of reporters and editors at  The Associated Press.

Re:WOE-BAMA

What's that old adage?  "You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool ALL the people ALL of the time".  Woebama has done an admirable job of "fooling" LIPS ALL of the time but luckily not all Americans are LIPS.

FOX NEWS most recent poll has him at 45% approval with 51% not approving of him.  That's indictative of his oppressive style of governance.  If you disagree with him, he will shut you down. And if he can do it to conservatives, he can do it to you.  People may not be well-informed but that doesn't mean they are stupid.  They get the threat to our freedom here.  And it's chilling the luv.

The scandals are spreading, they are getting larger and more widespread so what does the "most transparent WH EVER" do?  They evoke the 5th Amendment...I KNOW NUTTHINNNNKKK! defense.

Same with FAST and FURIOUS.  When reporters got too close to the truth, Eric the WITHHOLDER clammed up evoking "executive privelege" and the investigation was stopped in its tracks.  But he went after the reporter combing through his emails and phone records without notification.  WOW.  That sounds suspicious doesn't it?

Eric the Terrrrrible also accused Fox News reporter James Rosen as a "co-conspirator" for simply doing his job..asking questions...  they also went after the reporter's phone and computer records unknown to FNC or to Mr Rosen himself.  They even went after his parents emails and management of FNC.  WOW.  Nothing ever came of it and yet, Mr Rosen was accused of criminal activity.  He was simply doing his job.  He needs to sue for defammation of character and for them lying to the judge who signed off on it.

Now we have the IRS leadership...I KNOW NUTTTTHHINNNKKK and you can't make me talk because I'm guilty as sin crew.  Who do you suppose advised her of that?  Her attorney OR OUR ATTORNEY General and his boss??

Justice4All...What was it that Senator asked during the hearings "IS THIS STILL AMERICA"???  Don't know anymore.  That's a very good question isn't it?  Woebama should be sweating because it looks like the worm is turning.

Re:Keep Them In Your Prayers

While watching the news reports about Moore, Oklahoma something popped out that was astounding to me.

The Republican Gov of OK said this morning that out of all the destruction in Moore and surrounding areas, only 131 people were in shelters last night.  131.  It's obvious the entire community was obliterated and yet only 131 people in shelters and 24 dead is nothing short of a miracle.

We are seeing extensive coverage of the survivors in Moore asking for Prayers, not help from the government, or sitting still waiting to be "rescued" by govt but simply asking for prayers and thanking the Lord for keeping them and their loved ones safe and praying for those who did not make it and their families.  They are determined to rebuild and the entire community is pulling together to help one another. It's beyond inspiring.

Compare that to Katrina.  New Orleans had inept leadership that couldn't even put people on buses they had at their disposal to evacuate even though they had plenty of warning and then the survivors were "where's the govt" "we need help" ...  You had a community completely dependent upon govt doing everything for them and they didn't know how to function on their own.  It was really hard to watch.

There is the stark reality between LIBERALISM and CONSERVATISM.  It doesn't get anymore pure than that.  Conservatives will take help from the govt when  offered but they don't WAIT on the govt to save them.  Liberals demand the govt do it all for them and even at their own peril, will WAIT on the govt to save them because they don't know how to fend for themselves.  Scary.  They are losing their self-reliance gene.

Justice4All...  There is the problem with creating and cultivating a dependent society that Woebama is pushing us into.  He wants as many people dependent upon him for their existence and a Katrina is what you get.

Obama Administration -- OUT OF CONTROL

These White House scandals are not going away any time soon. I’ll tell you how bad it’s looking for President Obama: People in Kenya are now saying he’s 100 percent American.

Yesterday, the Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell, charged that there’s a culture of intimidation throughout the Obama administration. Really, anyone intimidated by Barack Obama? He can’t even keep Joe Biden in line.

So they spent the last five years claiming President Obama was weak and ineffective. Suddenly he’s Tony Soprano.

Tea Party Activists Across Nation Protest IRS Abuse

CINCINNATI -- Tea party activists waving flags and signs, singing patriotic songs and chanting anti-IRS slogans protested outside federal buildings across the country Tuesday to protest the agency's extra scrutiny of conservative groups.
A crowd packed the sidewalks in front of and across the street from a Cincinnati federal building housing the Internal Revenue Service offices that handled tax-exempt status applications. IRS officials have acknowledged that some conservative groups received inappropriate attention.
"It's going to be up to the grass-roots movement to do something," said Paul Wheeler, dressed in Colonial-era attire with tri-cornered hat and holding a sign saying: "Internal `Revenge' Service Stop." He said he came from Indianapolis, some 100 miles way, because Cincinnati is "the epicenter of some of the complaints."
There were also rallies outside IRS offices in Atlanta; Louisville; Chicago; Cherry Hill, N.J.; Kansas City, Mo.; Philadelphia; and Providence, R.I., among others.
After a march from Fountain Square about two blocks away, activists here filled sidewalks in front of the federal building for about 30 minutes. Some had Revolutionary War-style "Don't Tread on Me" and 13-star U.S. flags, as they chanted "IRS has got to go!" and "Stop the IRS!" and other messages. Demonstrators also sang "The Star Spangled Banner," "God Bless America," and other songs.
A handful of activists took a petition calling for the IRS to "cease and desist" inside the building. They handed the petition to a Federal Protective Service officer and asked him to deliver it to the IRS. The officer later handed it to a man in street clothes farther inside.
"I don't know if we made a difference, but I'm sure proud that we all came out," the Cincinnati tea party president, Ann Becker, told fellow demonstrators. There were also activists from other local tea party groups from northern Kentucky and Cincinnati suburbs.
Several IRS employees in Cincinnati declined to comment or didn't return phone messages.
In Washington, a few dozen people congregated Tuesday afternoon outside the IRS headquarters, listening to speeches and carrying signs reading "Audit the IRS" and "Don't audit me, Bro." The protest was on the opposite side of the building from the main entrance, which was blocked off with metal barriers and police tape as a dozen Federal Protective Service officers milled about.
Shoshana Weissmann, a 20-year-old George Washington University student who works at a political consulting firm, said she was troubled by the IRS' actions.
"I just think what they did was inappropriate and if they were doing this to liberals, I would be out here, too," said Weissmann, a registered Republican who said she is not affiliated with the tea party. "It's scary to think the IRS is capable of this."
In the Atlanta rally, speakers included Gov. Nathan Deal, who said "you don't have anything to worry about on the state level."
Debbie Dooley of Tea Party Patriots said in Atlanta her group spent some $250,000 on legal fees in battling with the IRS, which she said wanted donor and volunteer names and copies of Facebook comments.
Kansas City protesters included Vicki Watkins, a 58-year-old substitute teacher from Liberty, Mo.
"This makes me very sad that an arm of our government thinks they can strong-arm other people and get away with it," she said, adding: "I think that was a way to get conservative groups to throw in the towel."
Some former IRS staffers say Cincinnati employees shouldn't be vilified. Former senior manager Bonnie Esrig said the office was a nonpolitical environment, and tax-exempt status workloads had soared because of court decisions and rules changes. Esrig, who said she wasn't involved in handling the conservative group applications, said she believed the workers were trying to streamline the research and avoid repetition.
"I don't believe anybody had a political agenda," said Esrig, who retired from the Cincinnati office in January after 38 years to go into consulting.
However, she was skeptical about initial IRS suggestions that a handful of low-level employees were responsible for the practice, saying it's unlikely workers would have developed and followed procedures that focused on conservative groups without any supervisors being aware.
Republicans in Congress are pressing investigations exploring their suspicions that the targeting was politically motivated and involved higher-ups. President Barack Obama's administration has said no senior officials were involved in targeting conservative groups.
Some think the IRS controversy is helping revitalize the tea party movement.
"I think it's a great incentive," said Jim Ferneding, 64, of Montgomery, Ohio, who said he has remained active in the tea party since 2009. "It's terrifying that the government is interfering like this."
Jenny Beth Martin, a co-founder of Tea Party Patriots, a group that organized protests Tuesday, said the IRS was increasing public sympathy for the tea party.
"The American people see we were targeted, we were discriminated against, and our concerns about a government that is too large are valid concerns," she said in Washington.

Now is the time to take care of our own people. $1 billion is very easy to come up with, all we have to do as a country is stop making the payments we make to our "friends". Stop sending cash to countries like $1.56 billion to Eygpt, $2.27 billion to Pakistan, $2 billion to Iraq.     http://foreignassistance.gov/CountryIntro.aspx

BENGHAZI -- Least Transparent WH/President In American History

Carney Sweats it Out

by Keith Koffler on May 21, 2013, 10:09 am

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney is sweating it out under the harsh lights of the White House briefing room these days, revising stories and spinning away suspicious facts in what is becoming an almost comical daily exercise in scandal avoidance.

“Are you going to ask me about Myanmar?” Carney joked Monday as yet another White House reporter teed up a question about one of the various scandals swirling about the administration. The leader of Myanmar was to meet with President Obama later in the day.

Carney Monday was escorted by reporters down several nightmarish paths. The most ghastly of them all was the one on which he was forced to acknowledge that more White House officials than previously disclosed knew about the Treasury inspector general’s IRS report, and that the information was far more substantive than the simple “heads up” Carney had said it was.

To be fair, it appears that Carney himself was on the wrong end of a deception, and that his bosses may have withheld information from him indicating that senior aides beyond the White House Counsel were aware of the IG probe before it became public.

If that is so, Carney ought to be threatening to resign, because his credibility is now on the line. His insistence, for example, that the president himself knew nothing of the probe would only appear to be operative until we hear the next version of events.

And he’s still stonewalling – or not being informed – about who else knew, other than Chief of Staff Denis McDonough. “I don’t have a list for you,” he blandly remarked.

Carney has also made the mistake of allowing the questions to become personal. A press secretary should never respond when asked for his own opinion – he speaks for the president, no one else – but Carney, a former leading Washington reporter, clearly has something on his conscience.

“I think that I share the President’s — personally, as a former reporter, but also in this capacity — I share the President’s belief that we need to find a balance,” Carney said when asked about whether the Obama believes that reporters should ever be considered criminals for trying to gather information.

The response was to a question in relation to Monday’s revelation that Fox News reporter James Rosen was judged by the Justice Department as a potential co-conspirator in the case against a State Department official who allegedly leaked him classified materials.

Then things got even more personal. Carney, it turns out, was in the Time Washington bureau chief when a colleague at the magazine, Matt Cooper, was nearly sent to jail after being caught up in a leak investigation.

“What would you have said if the government told you that he had been involved in a crime for reporting on the Valerie Plame case?” Carney was asked,

Carney fled to the most coveted refuge of White House press secretaries: “That’s a hypothetical,” he said.

“It’s not a hypothetical,” the reporter insisted.

Carney clung tight: “That’s a hypothetical.

Finally, some relief:

Reporter: Myanmar, Myanmar.

Carney:  Myanmar, in the back, yes.  All the way back.  Myanmar?

Reporter: Yes.

Carney:  Thanks

IRS Worker Used Federal Plastic For Amazon Buys

Government credit card paid for years-long

MAY 21--Entrusted with a government credit card, an Internal Revenue Service worker allegedly used the plastic for a years-long Amazon.com shopping spree that netted her hundreds of items, including a chocolate fondue fountain; Bollywood movies; Pampers; Harlequin romance novels; Omaha Steaks; Apple Bottoms skinny jeans; mango body wash; and a Ginsu knife set.

Yetunde Oseni, 37, was named this month in a U.S. District Court felony complaint charging her with embezzling government funds. Oseni has worked since 2000 as a secretary in an IRS office in Lanham, Maryland.

According to a court filing, Oseni was given a Citibank MasterCard for the “purchase of office supplies for her business unit.”

However, a probe by the Treasury Department’s inspector general determined that Oseni has made scores of unauthorized purchases since being provided the IRS credit card in mid-2009. Oseni “provided altered receipts to approving officials at the IRS to cover-up the unauthorized purchases,” prosecutors charge.

While the criminal complaint does not itemize the “household items and food products” purchased by Oseni from Amazon.com, a search warrant for her Bowie, Maryland home includes an eight-page inventory detailing the illegal haul, which investigators have valued at $8515.

Some of Oseni’s more distinctive buys included:

* “2 Plus Size Trench Coats”

* “Hello Kitty Cosmetic Set and Dream Diary Kit”

* “MAC Haughty & Naughty Lash Mascara”

* “Nostalgia Electrics RSM-702 Retro Series Snow Cone Maker”

* “3lb Party Candy and Toy Pinata”

* “Lansinoh Lanolin Nursing Cream”

* “4 pairs of Leveret Children Pajamas (Choo Choo, Dreamboat, Tiger, Monkey)”

Oseni, who is free on a personal recognizance bond, faces a maximum of ten years in prison if convicted on the embezzlement count. She is scheduled for a June 12 hearing at the federal courthouse in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Using the power of the Federal govt to destroy thine enemies is about as anti-American as it gets. That is what China, Russia, Iran does. Nobody on either side has EVER stood for that in our history.

Now why would Lois Lerner, chief exec of the intimidation division of IRS refuse to answer questions..what is she hiding or WHO is she covering for?....hmmmm???  Perhaps she's done something ILLEGAL like lie to Congress under oath???  uh-ohSurprised

And...maybe she is afraid they will ask her WHO authorized her to target the right during an election to keep them from being able to fundraise and function to help rig the election outcome?? uh-oh Surprised Who might that be...Holder...Woebama himself??  Targeting religious groups is a really big Constitutional NO-NO, maybe she is looking at some serious jail time?

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups  will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House  committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative  nonprofit groups.

Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t  answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she  didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer,  William W. Taylor 3rd.

Justice4All....Fighting dirty is one thing but to do it at the expense of the American people, in the shadows and using his race as a weapon is the exact opposite of the oath he swore to uphold.

 Reid Gelhaar, May 21, 2013

For the past 5 years the Left has argued that President Obama wasn’t impassioned enough to engage the Republican-controlled house, the supermajority-ruled Senate and the increasingly vocal, Conservative media, Fox News very much included.  The feeling on the part of Obama’s liberal base was that he was “too bipartisan”.  That he wouldn’t roll up his French-cuffed Sauvignon Blanc drinking sleeves and slug it out for what he believed.

And BOOM.  Turns out he didn’t fool just the Right but even cloaked its pugilistic ways from his own base, the self-righteous and academically indignant liberals.   Turns out that Obama and his gang is really a paranoid and out of control group that cannot and will not tolerate any dissenting viewpoints.  Mess with us and we fight.  Only not in the ring.  And clearly not fairly.  No boxing gloves, no refs.  Only in the shadows.

What we have is an administration that can, has, and will continue to fight back and fight back in a filthy, dirty way.  Where the Department of Justice is doing its dirty work on the AP (and, really, how far behind can its child, the FBI, be in all this?).  Where the IRS pounds just the right.  It is so dirty; but it isn’t donnybrook dirty.  It is cold cocking dirty.  It is using the massive powers of the federal government against enemies of the Obama Administration.  Does this sound familiar to anyone who could read in 1974?   Punch away, but do it in the dark.  Do it quietly.  And don’t allow the opposition to hit back.  The laws be damned.

So, the Left has what it wants.  Obama the fighter.  Just a dirty one

CRAZY STUFF

The Most Benevolent Tolerant and Peaceful of Religions

The term dhimmitude was presented in an e-mail the other day. I looked it up and found it to mean the Muslim system for controlling non-Muslim populations brought under Muslim governance as the result of jihad. Specifically, it is the excessive taxing of non-Muslims in exchange for tolerating their presence as well as a coercive method of converting non-Muslims to Islam. It includes such things as prohibiting a non-Muslim from testifying against a Muslim in a court of law (Sharia law, of course.) Separate, but unequal...get thee to the rear of the bus type of tolerance.

I share this with you for consideration when well-informed folks, pundits, intellectuals, various other know-it-alls hold forth about Islam as a paradigm of all that is most peaceful, benevolent and tolerant among religions. That is like noting that except for  the holocaust Nazism was a great form of government. If, in their learned presentation the policy of dhimmitude is omitted, then the presentation must be biased in favor of Islam and should be taken with a double dose of disbelief. Dhimmitude  is the least of what the Muslims would do to non-Muslims if they had the opportunity. The goal of all non-Muslims should be to deny them that opportunity. I wonder what President Obama et al know of dhimmitude  as if that knowledge would alter the official line espoused at every opportunity concerning the greatness of Islam among world religions.

Re:Obama Administration -- OUT OF CONTROL

Stop the Leaks

As former Justice Department officials who served in the three administrations preceding President Obama’s, we are worried that the criticism of the decision to subpoena telephone toll records of A.P. journalists in an important leak investigation sends the wrong message to the government officials who are responsible for our national security.

While neither we nor the critics know the circumstances behind the prosecutors’ decision to issue this subpoena, we do know from the government’s public disclosures that the prosecutors were right to investigate this leak vigorously. The leak — which resulted in a May 2012 article by The A.P. about the disruption of a Yemen-based terrorist plot to bomb an airliner — significantly damaged our national security.

The United States and its allies were trying to locate a master bomb builder affiliated with Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, a group that was extremely difficult to penetrate. After considerable effort and danger, an agent was inserted inside the group. Although that agent succeeded in foiling one serious bombing plot against the United States, he was rendered ineffective once his existence was disclosed.

The leak of such sensitive source information not only denies us an invaluable insight into our adversaries’ plans and operations. It is also devastating to our overall ability to thwart terrorist threats, because it discourages our allies from working and sharing intelligence with us and deters would-be sources from providing intelligence about our adversaries. Unless we can demonstrate the willingness and ability to stop this kind of leak, those critical intelligence resources may be lost to us.

At the time the article was published, there were strong bipartisan calls for the Justice Department to find the leaker. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. gave that assignment to Ronald C. Machen Jr., the United States attorney for the District of Columbia, who is known for his meticulous and dedicated work. Importantly, his assignment was to identify and prosecute the government official who leaked the sensitive information; it was not to conduct an inquiry into the news organization that published it.

His office, which has an experienced national security team, undertook a methodical and measured investigation. Did prosecutors immediately seek the reporters’ toll records? No. Did they subpoena the reporters to testify or compel them to turn over their notes? No. Rather, according to the Justice Department’s May 14 letter to The A.P., they first interviewed 550 people, presumably those who knew or might have known about the agent, and scoured the documentary record. But after eight months of intensive effort, it appears that they still could not identify the leaker.

It was only then — after pursuing “all reasonable alternative investigative steps,” as required by the department’s regulations — that investigators proposed obtaining telephone toll records (logs of calls made and received) for about 20 phone lines that the leaker might have used in conversations with A.P. journalists. They limited the request to the two months when the leak most likely occurred, and did not propose more intrusive investigative steps.

The decision was made at the highest levels of the Justice Department, under longstanding regulations that are well within the boundaries of the Constitution. Having participated in similar decisions, we know that they are made after careful deliberation, because the government does not lightly seek information about a reporter’s work. Along with the obligation to investigate and prosecute government employees who violate their duty to protect operational secrets, Justice Department officials recognize the need to minimize any intrusion into the operations of the free press.

While we cannot know all of the facts and considerations that went into the department’s decision, we do know that prosecutors were right to try to find out who gave this damaging information to The A.P. They were right to pursue the investigation with “alternative investigative steps” for eight months first. And ultimately, they were right to take it to the next stage when they still needed more to make a case against the leaker. If the Justice Department had not done so, it would have defaulted on its obligation to protect the American people.

Jodi Arias: When tornadoes of traumatizing life events come ripping through one's capacity for recall

At a time when  the young woman defendant Jodi Arias is about to speak in her own defense, abandoned by her attorneys and by witnesses who would have spoken in her defense but suddenly withdrew for threats of retaliation, and facing the possibility of being put to death, I feel compelled to offer my own personal experience on how traumatizing life events can obliterate one’s recollections.

Now 74 years old, with three earned degrees and seven degrees of misery, multiple surgeries,  strokes, and heart attacks behind me,  fighting daily to stay above medical circumstances that have taken the lives of many persons younger than myself,   I reflect on the tragic events  that remain as open wounds after more than four decades,  events at a time when I was a young minister who had known nothing but a life of dedication to the Lord and the service of the ministry.

It has been amnesia from shock out of the period of being raped and dislodged from a normal life when I was in the terrible throes of disability after losing my wife and family. I wound up in a hospital and an infirmary at a notable school,  and there I was, left at the mercy of a doctor who kept me there for 13 days for a migraine headache. During that time he aimed at seducing me and getting me into his office where he forced himself into me with his large phallus, compelling to lie prone on a gurney for what he claimed was an anal exam I needed for my prostate (strange because I have never prostate problems even to this day). It was while he had me in his office that he told me from his medical knowledge how I could take my own life without any detection possible of the means used to do it.  Also taking me to his home from time to time, feeding his wife breakfast, then coming downstairs to seduce me on the couch. Chasing me around from place to place, even to an island off the Atlantic Coast that his wife’s ancestors helped found, even getting into the wedding line of my marriage to my second wife.  I had no idea I was that attractive, though I was chosen as one of three in New York City to be a model and centerfold.

Who is this person, and why has he been covering all this up?  What happened to his wife?  Suddenly I learned she had died, and he never even told me, and I was supposed to be his special friend.   I went out to eat with her and this doctor.  Not long before, and she seemed perfectly healthy to me. What happened to the young man who was at the infirmary who suddenly was dead?  What happened to other students who had fallings out with him because of inappropriate behavior at the infirmary?

Somehow I felt used and abused because he wanted $35,000.00 to add on a medical room at the infirmary. He knew because of the professional closeness I had inherited over a million dollars.  I was a student, doing my work and trying to keep up a ministry, travelling back and forth. He even visited my home, and reached out to try to seduce me again and again both in hotels, and boarding places in at the school.  He abused me by telling me I did wrong by getting involved with a woman and bringing more children into the world.   Very difficult circumstances for me;  these traumatizing events led me to a period of amnesia about these happenings. It is only in the wake of my recent, and intensive 7 ½ hour long deep brain surgery that memories have started to return, causing me to reflect more deeply and lucidly about these events.

When I was raped in the infirmary at the school, I screamed and hollered to where it was heard up and down the hallways of the infirmary. His secretary, a German woman, embarrassed me because he didn’t want it to be known what he was doing. As I have shared he had me face down on the gurney.  Covered it up with his professional and church connections. My life was being prevailed upon by this monstrous abuse I was subject to, and which I didn’t know what to do with.

I can relate to what this Jodi Arias is going through.  Though what she did was horrible,  I do believe that the trauma of being abused can eradicate the memory of events  of all that transpires around you, and you go on as if none of it had happened.   I’ve tried to keep in touch with this doctor to play along, allowing him to believe I was interested in him, for the hope of eventually  dealing with and exposing him over what happened to me;   I never have had an explanation of what happened.  As to why it has taken so long to come to grips with these happenings:  the pain was such that I kept these things buried so I could carry on with my life without being inundated with them – at the same time they  have remained open wounds in need of healing and resolution.   As I write this doctor is travelling with his lover of 25 years to their summer home.

I am  very distraught because I hate to see this young woman Jodi Arias put to death and nobody will speak on her behalf about her circumstances.   She certainly made a terrible mistake in her life,  but  could not remember any of it; something that goes on when religion, faith, and sexual  abuse are mixed through psychological and physical force.

I have had  memories return to me in the nights of the events surrounding what I was personally subject to.  I am hoping that something will dissolve this thing from my mind so I don’t have to be tortured any more.

I don’t want to see another person wrongfully taken to be put to death because she lost her mind and sense of direction.  Why there aren’t more people coming to her defense, not for the wrong she did, but because of her  telling what she went through, her making a mistake and not being able to remember what went on. This fellow was a Mormon; I don’t have much respect for the Mormon church. We have that fellow down in Texas who was  put away for taking on children.  Now we hear of a young boy who was being chased by this Travis Alexander, and his  running from woman to woman, causing rage and trauma in the life of a woman who was used to be living monogamously, then suddenly being forcibly subject to a different faith and sexual abuse.

As to what I went through personally as a vulnerable young man and student, I can’t understand why I have had to be subject to it all, except there be a reason to speak out at this time on behalf of this vulnerable young woman, an ingénue whose heart and life had been all but derailed by the double trauma of being forced into a different religion and being forced upon sexually, even while I cope with my own unresolved  traumas and losses.

Who is this doctor that sought to take advantage of me and forced himself upon me, a young minister reeling from the trauma of divorce and the forcible loss of my children?; who was this Travis Alexander that enticed a young, artistically gifted woman into a faith not her own, and forced her into the trauma of sexual abuse?  The questions remained unanswered, and the mysteries remain unresolved.

Rand Paul outraged, but not entirely sure why

by Hunter

    •
Sen. Rand Paul
I know this much about what I'm talking about.

The Republican Party needs to pour themselves a stiff drink and contemplate how it came to be that Rand Paul, unaccomplished scion of a man the old party hands tried their level best to ignore, became one of the big party names and a leader of whatever-the-hell-passes-for-a-movement-these-days.

CNN:

Sen. Rand Paul claimed Sunday there was a "written policy" floating around the agency that said IRS officials were "targeting people who were opposed to the president."

"And when that comes forward, we need to know who wrote the policy and who approved the policy," the Republican senator from Kentucky said on CNN's "State of the Union."

Except that he apparently pulled this particular memo from deep inside his own colon, because he doesn't actually know if the "written policy" he's talking about really even exists:
Pressed for more precise details about the memo he was referring to, Paul said he hasn't seen such a policy statement but has heard about it.

"Well, we keep hearing the reports and we have several specifically worded items saying who was being targeted. In fact, one of the bullet points says those who are critical of the president. So I don't know if that comes from a policy, but that's what's being reported in the press and reported orally," he told CNN's chief political correspondent Candy Crowley. "I haven't seen a policy statement, but I think we need to see that."

Unless Paul is privy to a Magic Memo that the rest of us haven't seen (and he says he himself hasn't seen, thus complicating things further), he seems to be misrepresenting things at best: What bullet point we do know of was to focus on nonprofit applications critical of the government, not the president—and again, the apparent goal was to filter out primarily political groups in an application process that was supposed to specifically disqualify, by law, political groups. The "scandal" part of the "scandal" would be that certain groups were targeted by name, e.g. "Tea Party", which would focus on one certain narrow part of the political spectrum. That apparently political groups were targeted for extra scrutiny when seeking nonprofit status, however, is exactly what was supposed to happen—or what was supposed to happen if we still had any pretense that our election law wasn't caught somewhere between ineptitude and outright crookedness.

Part of the problem Republicans have in their efforts to tar the administration with various scandals is that they're such shameless fabricators they can't even hold together their own narratives. By the time they've gone through their various iterations of the old "telephone" game, nobody can quite figure out what they're going on about, much less how much of it is real and how much of it is people like Darrell Issa and Rand Paul and Peggy Noonan just making things up.

Team Obama Intimidates IRS Workers with Armed Guards, Threatens Them If They  Talk

File Photo

Monday afternoon, ABC News released a chilling report that details what  journalists have faced while trying to get some answers from the Cincinnati IRS  office, which is where a majority of the Tea Party targeting took place.

According to ABC, an "armed uniform police officer with the Federal  Protective Service" "escorted" reporters through the public building. ABC says  if the intent wasn't to "scare off" employees who might talk, "it was the  effect."

ABC News is also hearing conflicting reports from Cincinnati IRS employees  and the IRS Headquarters in Washington. A Washington spokesman told ABC that  press queries are "referred to the press office," but that "people have First  Amendment rights, they are entitled to speak."

An employee in OH said that is not the case and that staffers have been  threatened with their jobs if they are caught talking to the media:

At the [Cincinnati] IRS office on the fourth floor, a woman who answered the  buzzer referred reporters to officials in Washington, though they were not  returning very many calls. That staffer also said she was not allowed to speak  to anyone – a line that was repeated by agency personnel during the week.

IRS headquarters in Washington denied that a no-talk rule was official policy  because, after all, agency staffers still have a constitutional right to talk to  whomever they want. … Not so, said IRS folks in Ohio.

One of them, who asked not be named, told ABC News that security guards did  remind employees of the official policy not to talk with the press – a warning  cemented by the punch line "or risk losing our jobs."

WH ON SCANDALS....IT WASN'T ME....

Interesting quote from -Bob Woodward

"You were talking earlier about kind of dismissing the Benghazi issue as one that’s just political and the president recently said it’s a sideshow. But if you read through all these e-mails, you see that everyone in the government is saying, ‘Oh, let’s not tell the public that terrorists were involved, people connected to al Qaeda. Let’s not tell the public that there were warnings.’ I hate to show, this is one of the documents with the editing that one of the people in the state department said, ‘Oh, let’s not let these things out.’ And I have to go back 40 years to Watergate when Nixon put out his edited transcripts to the conversations, and he personally went through them and said, ‘Oh, let’s not tell this, let’s not show this.’ I would not dismiss Benghazi. It’s a very serious issue."

Dem. Senator Blames Tornado on Republicans

21 May 2013

On Monday, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) used the devastating Oklahoma tornado as an excuse to bash Republicans for denying global warming and implied Republicans were responsible for actually allowing the destructive natural disaster to occur.

“So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said on the Senate floor. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care if we Republicans run off the climate cliff like a bunch of proverbial lemmings and disgrace ourselves? I’ll tell you why. We’re stuck in this together. We are stuck in this together."

After blaming natural disasters in Oklahoma, Alabama, and Texas on global warming and Republicans, Whitehouse continued his rant by criticizing the Republicans he blamed for then asking the government for federal aid dollars.

"When cyclones tear up Oklahoma and hurricanes swamp Alabama and wildfires scorch Texas, you come to us, the rest of the country, for billions of dollars to recover," he said, according to the Daily Caller. "And the damage that your polluters and deniers are doing doesn’t just hit Oklahoma and Alabama and Texas. It hits Rhode Island with floods and storms. It hits Oregon with acidified seas, it hits Montana with dying forests. So, like it or not, we’re in this together.”
He continued, "You drag America with you to your fate."

Whitehouse then said he wanted a Republican Party that "returned to its senses" and was a strong and "worthy adversary in a strong America that has done right by its people and the world."

"I don’t want a Republican Party disgraced, that let its extremists run off the cliff, and an America suffering from grave economic and environmental and diplomatic damage because we failed, because we didn’t wake up and do our duty to our people, and because we didn’t lead the world," Whitehouse said. "I do not want that future. But that’s where we’re headed."

As families across Oklahoma were suffering, politics was what was first and foremost on Whitehouse's mind.

Yes, let's do put this in "perspective".  Too bad NBC (National Baruk Central) didn't and are using this tragedy for political purposes as usual.  Shameful.  There's no "brawl" to it. It's called responsible govt. spending.  It's what we elect them to do.

You want to hear about a real brawl?  I heard dems speaking this a.m. on the floor in Congress are already hard at it using the tragedy as the evil GOP against "climate-change" legislation are to blame for this tornado.  Can't make that stuff up, heard it straight from their mouths.  What a bunch of angry dishonest political hacks.  What's wrong with those people?

Senator Coburn is a fiscal hawk..is that supposed to be a bad thing now?  He's not saying "don't help" he's saying let's pay for it responsibly.  We need more adults just like him.  Many, many more. We should all hope he gets it done.

Ft. Hood Shooter Getting Paid While Victims Struggle

Injured soldier outraged suspected shooter receives salary while his family financially struggles in recovery

By Scott Friedman, NBCDFW.com

The Department of Defense confirms to NBC 5 Investigates that accused Fort Hood shooter Major Nidal Hasan has now been paid more than $278,000 since the Nov. 5, 2009 shooting that left 13 dead 32 injured. The Army said under the Military Code of Justice, Hasan’s salary cannot be suspended unless he is proven guilty.

If Hasan had been a civilian defense department employee, NBC 5 Investigates has learned, the Army could have suspended his pay after just seven days.

Personnel rules for most civilian government workers allow for "indefinite suspensions" in cases "when the agency has reasonable cause to believe that the employee has committed a crime for which a sentence of imprisonment may be imposed."

Meanwhile, more than three years later soldiers wounded in the mass shooting are fighting to receive the same pay and medical benefits given to those wounded in combat.

Retired Army Spc. Logan Burnett, a reservist who, in 2009, was soon to be deployed to Iraq, was shot three times when a gunman opened fire inside the Army Deployment Center.

“I honestly thought I was going to die in that building,” said Burnett. “Just blood everywhere and then the thought of -- that's my blood everywhere.”

Burnett nearly died. He's had more than a dozen surgeries since the shooting, and says post-traumatic stress still keeps him up at night.

DEMOCRATS: Party of Corruption?

Arkansas Treasurer Accused of Taking Cash in Pie Box

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Arkansas' state treasurer was accused Monday of taking at least $36,000 in cash - sometimes stashed in a pie box - from a broker who later came to manage a large share of the state's $3.3 billion investment portfolio.
Democrat Martha Shoffner, who made her initial court appearance Monday, said she had no plans to resign despite members of her own party joining Republican calls for her to step down. She was released on her own recognizance but ordered to surrender her passport.
Federal prosecutors allege Shoffner accepted $12,000 a year from a broker who would sometimes deliver cash in a pie box, with the pie included. They said the broker is cooperating with investigators.
"The allegations against Ms. Shoffner are serious and they completely erode the public trust that we put in our elected officials, if they prove to be true," U.S. Attorney Chris Thyer said at a news conference.
Outside the courthouse, Shoffner, 68, said she does not intend to resign. She was re-elected in 2010, and has faced inquiries over the past year about the way her office has handled state investments.
She didn't enter a plea Monday, but her attorney, Chuck Banks, said she'd plead not guilty at the appropriate time. A federal grand jury will decide whether to indict Shoffner, who is charged with attempt and conspiracy to commit extortion under color of official right.
The charges carry maximum penalties of 20 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine. A next court date was not set.
Shoffner was arrested during a sting operation Saturday and spent the weekend in Pulaski County Jail.
"This has been a very, very tough proceeding for her and a tough weekend," Banks said.
An FBI affidavit filed in federal court alleges that a broker - unidentified in court documents - would roll up cash in $6,000 increments and have it delivered to Shoffner's office every six months. At least two of the payments were delivered in a pie box with a pie. The broker "recognized his/her bond business with the state grew because of the payments," the affidavit said.
The payments were made after Shoffner asked the broker for $1,000 a month to pay her rent in Little Rock, according to the affidavit. The document said the broker was granted immunity in exchange for his or her cooperation.
Legislative auditors last year questioned Shoffner's selling of bonds before they matured, a practice that they said cost the state more than $434,000 worth of earnings.
The state's top elected officials, including Gov. Mike Beebe, Attorney General Dustin McDaniel and U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor, called for Shoffner to resign.
"I think she should resign immediately," said Beebe, adding that the details provided by prosecutors are so specific that Shoffner has been rendered unable to lead.
"It would be very hard, in my opinion, for that office to properly function under her continued leadership," the Democrat added.
The heads of the Democratic and Republican parties also said Shoffner should step down.

Issa Warns Hillary If she’s called to testify again, she’d better be ready.

Since Hillary Clinton last came up to Capitol Hill, we’ve learned senior State Department officials sought to scrub references to terrorism from the infamous Benghazi talking points to insulate Foggy Bottom from political criticism — citing concerns of their “building’s leadership” to justify the demands.

The rising temperature of the scandal means it’s possible that Hillary could be asked to return and testify again. If she comes back, she had better be prepared, says House Oversight and Government Reform chairman Darrell Issa.

“We are interviewing lots of people, most of them under oath,” Issa says, describing the “methodical” approach his committee has been using for months.

“We’re going to go through . . . that so that if we bring Secretary Clinton back, we bring her back when we have a lot of questions, including who told her what, or, more importantly, who didn’t tell her something, and why” Issa says in his office in the Rayburn House Office Building

The person he claims made the decision to cast him out was Cheryl Mills--Hillary Clinton's former chief of staff and counsel at the State Department. It is the second time Mills' name has turned up during scrutiny of the State Department's response to the attack.

Obama Scandals Bring MSNBC to 7-Year Low

AP / FNC

Deadline Hollywood reports: The scandals  of the Obama administration seem to be hurting not just the White House but  MSNBC as well while Fox News Channel scored its second-best week of the year.

After double-digit gains during last year’s presidential election, May 13-17 saw  the progressive-aligned “Lean Forward” news network hit new lows as the IRS  scandal erupted and revelations that the Justice Department secretly obtained AP  records became public. With 350,000 viewers on average and 94,000 among the  adults 25-54 demo, MSNBC had its least-watched and lowest-rated total-day  results of the year last week.

That was also the lowest total-day demo result  the network has had since the week of June 26-July 2, 2006, when MSNBC pulled in  just 83,000 viewers among adults 25-54, according to Nielsen  data...

Upcoming immigration reform bill

United States of Free Handouts!

Senate panel OKs tax-welfare benefits for newly legal immigrants

The SenateJudiciary  Committee voted Monday to allow illegal immigrants who get legal status to  begin collecting tax-welfare payments, as the panel spent a fourth day working  through amendments to the massive immigration bill and party-line splits began  to emerge.

In one major change, the committee voted 17-1 to make a third drunken-driving conviction a deportable offense for  the newly legalized immigrants if at least one of those offenses occurs after  they are approved for legal status.

But immigrant-rights groups called that a rollback of due-process rights for  the immigrants and said a drunken-driving incident shouldn’t cost someone a  chance at citizenship.

“We cannot and will not support hard-line proposals that take away discretion  and limit an individual’s ability to pursue the pathway to citizenship,” said Paromita Shah, associate director of the National Lawyers Guild’s National  Immigration Project.

Overall, the committee continued  to maintain the delicate balance struck by the “Gang of Eight” senators who negotiated the  867-page bill: Quick legal status for illegal immigrants, but delaying  citizenship rights until after the administration spends more money on border  security, puts in place a new electronic verification system to check workers’  status, and enacts an entry-exit system to check visas at airports and  seaports.

In previous days’ action, two Republican members of the Gang  of Eight — Sens. Lindsey Graham of  South Carolina and Jeff Flake of Arizona —  joined with Democrats to block a series of GOP amendments to stiffen the bill’s  security.

But on Monday, the two Republicans sided with their party colleagues on key  questions on giving illegal immigrants public benefits.

BENGHAZI -- Least Transparent WH/President In American History

Ex-Diplomats Report New Benghazi Whistleblowers with Info Devastating to Clinton and Obama

More whistleblowers will emerge shortly in the escalating Benghazi scandal, according to two former U.S. diplomats who spoke with PJ Media Monday afternoon.

These whistleblowers, colleagues of the former diplomats, are currently securing legal counsel because they work in areas not fully protected by the Whistleblower law.

According to the diplomats, what these whistleblowers will say will be at least as explosive as what we have already learned about the scandal, including details about what really transpired in Benghazi that are potentially devastating to both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

The former diplomats inform PJM the new revelations concentrate in two areas — what Ambassador Chris Stevens was actually doing in Benghazi and the pressure put on General Carter Ham, then in command of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) and therefore responsible for Libya, not to act to protect jeopardized U.S. personnel.

Stevens’ mission in Benghazi, they will say, was to buy back Stinger missiles from al-Qaeda groups issued to them by the State Department, not by the CIA. Such a mission would usually be a CIA effort, but the intelligence agency had opposed the idea because of the high risk involved in arming “insurgents” with powerful weapons that endanger civilian aircraft.

Many in-depth studies by distinguished groups (including electric companies) have proven that distributed generation in the form of homeowner’s photovoltaic systems is actually beneficial to utility companies.  Some of these benefits are:

  • Deferment of Transmission and Distribution capacity upgrades (avoiding or delaying new construction)
  • Reduced transformer and line losses
  • Energy diversification (natural gas price hedge)
  • Saved fuel expenses
  • Renewable Portfolio Standard requirement compliance
  • Aids disaster recovery

Of course there are also societal benefits including reduced pollution, job creation and resource diversity.

Watchdog report says DOJ official retaliated against ‘Furious’ whistle-blower, lied about it

By

Published May 20, 2013

The former U.S. Attorney for Arizona could be disbarred, after an investigation found he lied to the Justice Department about his role in trying to discredit the federal whistle-blower who exposed the botched gun-running scheme known as Fast and Furious.

An Office of Inspector General report showed that Dennis Burke -- the former chief of staff for Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano appointed as U.S. Attorney for Arizona by President Obama in September 2009 -- lied when asked if he leaked sensitive documents to the press meant to undermine the credibility of ATF whistle-blower John Dodson.

The IG report also said Burke likely leaked the memo in retaliation for Dodson's whistle-blowing, and challenged the credibility of statements he made to congressional investigators. Dodson first went to Congress in 2010 after his own agency and the Justice Department refused to investigate his complaints that Operation Fast and Furious, an anti-gun-trafficking effort, was out of control.

"We also concluded that Burke's disclosure of the Dodson memorandum was likely motivated by a desire to undermine Dodson's public criticisms of Operation Fast and Furious. Although Burke denied to congressional investigators that he had any retaliatory motive for his actions, we found substantial evidence to the contrary," the IG report, released Monday, said.

Dodson appeared before Congress in June 2011. At the time, the Department of Justice denied his claim that the federal government approved a plan to knowingly assist criminals in smuggling thousands of guns to the Mexican drug cartels.

Dodson's credibility was crucial since nearly everyone above him denied the allegation. The report found that Burke leaked information that sought to undermine Dodson's story to a Fox News producer.

"The report brings into question, yet again, the treatment that whistle-blowers receive from this administration," Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, said Monday. "Instead of examining the allegations that came forward, the Justice Department almost immediately began to attack the credibility and good name of a dedicated federal agent upset with what he was ordered to do."

Burke used his private email account to leak the information to a friend in Washington who then hand-delivered the information to the Fox producer. The IG said in its report it used an "administrative subpoena" to identify the personal email of relevant Department employees to confirm the leak.

Once contacted by IG staff, Burke admitted he was the source. The IG's office had asked 150 Justice Department employees to affirm they were not the leak.

But the report said he gave misleading information to congressional investigators. Asked about the issue by congressional investigators, Burke said: "I was under the impression that (the Dodson memo) had gone to the Hill and that I was basically giving (the Fox producer) a time advantage."

He also allegedly misled his own superior in Washington, Assistant Attorney General James Cole.

At the time, Cole had seen a New York Times story about Fast and Furious. In it, the paper published a picture which showed the document had been faxed from the U.S. attorney's office in Arizona. When confronted, the report said Burke told Cole, "I don't think we have a fax machine."

The IG report claims Burke was "admonished by Deputy Attorney General Cole for lying to him ... and had been put on notice such disclosures should not occur."

After speaking with Burke, Cole wrote "another horrible incident of bad judgment." The following day, Aug. 13, Burke resigned.

Fox News tried unsuccessfully to contact Burke, who recently formed a security and lobbying firm with former Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan, Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf and Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano's Chief of Staff Noah Kroloff.

The Office of Inspector General is an investigative arm that monitors the Justice Department. It tried to interview Burke, but he resigned.

The IG said Burke violated numerous federal and professional rules of conduct and it would forward a copy of its report to the Arizona State Bar Association for disciplinary conduct.

The White House’s shifting IRS account

The White House on Monday once again added to the list of people who knew about the IRS investigation into its targeting of conservative groups — saying White House chief of staff Denis McDonough had been informed about a month ago.

Press secretary Jay Carney said again that no one had told President Barack Obama ahead of the first news reports: not his top aide McDonough, nor his chief counsel Kathy Ruemmler, nor anyone from the Treasury Department.

Republicans said they were on the lookout for the next installment in the White House’s ever-shifting narrative.

Here’s how the White House account has evolved:

Friday, May 10: IRS official Lois Lerner disclosed at an American Bar Association conference that the agency had targeted non-profit applications from groups with tea party language in their name.

That afternoon, Carney said he didn’t know when the White House first became aware of the investigation.

“I don’t have an answer to that specifically,” Carney said. “I know that when the IG began investigating it, that it’s been investigating it for however long the IRS has said, but I don’t have a specific answer to that.”

Outside the White House, Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said that he’d first learned of the details of the investigation from news reports.

Monday, May 13: Obama, during his press conference with British Prime Minister David Cameron, said he first learned about the IRS story from the press.

“I first learned about it from the same news reports that I think most people learned about this,” Obama said. “I think it was on Friday.”

Later in the day, Carney told reporters aboard Air Force One that White House counsel Kathy Ruemmler’s office was told “in the week of April 22” that an inspector general’s report was coming “involving the office in Cincinnati.”

“But that’s all they were informed as a normal sort of heads up,” Carney said. “And we have never — we don’t have access to, nor should we, the IG’s report or any draft versions of it.”

Tuesday, May 14: The inspector general’s report was released, and Obama released a statement directing Treasury Secretary Jack Lew to “hold those responsible for these failures accountable.”

Wednesday, May 15: Acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller resigned at Obama’s request.

Hillary's Benghazi 'Scapegoat' Speaks Out

May 20, 2013 2:53 PM EDT

Raymond Maxwell, the only official at the State Department's bureau of Near Eastern Affairs to lose his job after the attacks, tells Josh Rogin that he’s been scapegoated by Hillary Clinton’s team.

Raymond Maxwell was placed on forced “administrative leave” after the State Department’s own internal investigation, conducted by an Administrative Review Board (ARB) led by former State Department official Tom Pickering. Five months after he was told to clean out his desk and leave the building, Maxwell remains in professional and legal limbo, having been associated publicly with the death of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other American for reasons that remain unclear.

Maxwell, who served as deputy assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern Affairs from August 2011 until his removal last December, following tours in Iraq and Syria, spoke publicly for the first time in an exclusive interview with The Daily Beast.

“The overall goal is to restore my honor,” said Maxwell, who has now filed grievances regarding his treatment with the State Department’s human resources bureau and the American Foreign Service Association, which represents the interests of foreign-service officers. The other three officials placed on leave were in the diplomatic security bureau, leaving Maxwell as the only official in the bureau of Near Eastern Affairs (NEA), which had responsibility for Libya, to lose his job.

“I had no involvement to any degree with decisions on security and the funding of security at our diplomatic mission in Benghazi,” he said.

Maxwell was removed from his job on Dec. 18, the day after the ARB report was released, and subsequently placed on administrative leave, which is meant to give the State Department time to investigate whether Maxwell should be fired or return to work. Five months later, that investigation seems stalled and Maxwell sits at home, where he continues to be paid but is not allowed to return to his job.

The State Department declined to comment on the reasons that Maxwell and the other officials were placed on administrative leave, or on what the four were told about the reasons for the decision. It did confirm that the ARB did not recommend direct disciplinary action because it didn’t find misconduct or a direct breach of duty by the officials. “As a matter of policy, we don’t speak to specific personnel matters,” said State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki.

Since the leave is not considered a formal disciplinary action, Maxwell has no means to appeal the status, as he would if he had been outright fired. To this day, he says, nobody from the State Department has ever told him why he was singled out for discipline. He has never had access to the classified portion of the ARB report, where all of the details regarding personnel failures leading up to Benghazi are confined. He also says he has never been shown any evidence or witness testimony linking him to the Benghazi incident.

Maxwell says he had planned to retire last September, but extended his time voluntarily after the Sept. 11 attack to help the bureau in its time of need. Now, he is refusing to retire until his situation is clarified. He is seeking a restoration of his previous position, a public statement of apology from State, reimbursement for his legal fees, and an extension of his time in service to equal the time he has spent at home on administrative leave.

“For any FSO being at work is the essence of everything and being deprived of that and being cast out was devastating,” he said.

Soon after being removed from his job, Maxwell was visited at his home late one evening and directed to sign a letter acknowledging his administrative leave and forfeiting his right to enter the State Department. He refused to sign, responding in writing that it amounted to an admission he had done something wrong.

“They just wanted me to go away but I wouldn’t just go away,” he said. “I knew Chris [Stevens]. Chris was a friend of mine.”

“Behind Beth’s back, Maxwell ended up being put on administrative leave.”

The decision to place Maxwell on administrative leave was made by Clinton’s chief of staff Cheryl Mills, according to three State Department officials with direct knowledge of the events. On the day after the unclassified version of the ARB’s report was released in December, Mills called Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Beth Jones and directed her to have Maxwell leave his job immediately.

"Cheryl Mills directed me to remove you immediately from the [deputy assistant secretary] position," Jones told Maxwell, according to Maxwell.

The decision to remove Maxwell and not Jones seems to conflict with the finding of the ARB that responsibility for the security failures leading up to the Sept. 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi should fall on more senior officials.

“We fixed [the responsibility] at the assistant secretary level, which is in our view the appropriate place to look, where the decision-making in fact takes place, where, if you like, the rubber hits the road," Pickering said when releasing the ARB report.

The report found “systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels within two bureaus of the State Department,” namely the Diplomatic Security (DS) and Near East bureaus. Deputy Secretary of State Bill Burns testified in December that requests for more security in Libya, denied by the State Department, did reach the assistant secretaries and “it may be that some of my colleagues on the 7th floor saw them as well."

OBAMA-GATE....Administration Out Of Control
Man with shocked expression on his face
Say it ain't so, Joe!
In more news from Scandalnavia, the place from whence all Obama scandals come:
The chief White House lawyer, Kathryn Ruemmler, learned last month that a Treasury inspector general had concluded an audit of the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative groups, weeks before the matter became public, according to a senior White House official.
Whoa! She learned about it weeksbeforehand! If that's not a scandal, then what is? I mean, during those weeks, the administration easily could have ... wait. Hold on, what exactly could it have done? I mean, the stuff that was being investigated started in 2010 and ended in 2012. So time was not of the essence. And the White House couldn't very well have released the IG report any earlier ... because it wasn't yet complete. So, this seems like another Scandalnavian nothingburger.

But if you disagree and think this is a huge deal, then consider this fact:

The Treasury Department Inspector General for Tax Administration sent a letter to Congressman Darrell Issa and Congressman Jim Jordan on July 12, 2012 informing them they would be auditing the IRS in response to their concerns that certain groups might be receiving extra scrutiny. The letter came in response to a June 28th letter of that year from Congressman Issa and requests for an investigation.

The letter states that after meeting with the staff of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which Issa chairs, the IG Office of Audit began work on the issue. The IG offered in the letter to provide a status update to the staff of the committee throughout the investigation as well as provide copies of interim and final reports.

So to all those Republicans who say that Obama was obviously covering up the IRS scandal in 2012 in order to steal the election from Mitt Romney, the rightful heir to the presidency, I have just one question: what do Darrell Issa and Jim Jordan have against Willard?

Tea party group plans nationwide protest against the IRS

The Tea Party Patriots are encouraging “anyone and everyone” to protest Internal Revenue Service offices on Tuesday in response to the agency’s targeting of conservative groups.

The group expects to hold these “Rein in the IRS Rallies” nationwide.

“On behalf of Tea Party, Patriot groups, 9/12, liberty activists, and the American people, we are calling for anyone and everyone to protest the IRS’ complete abuse of power on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at noon local time,” the group writes on their website.

To help facilitate the protests, the Tea Party Patriots provides a nationwide list of IRS offices and addresses on their website.

“The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is out of control and we need to stand up and let them know that we will not take their intimidation tactics!” the group explains.

Tea Party Patriots also provides templates for letters to newspaper editors, tweets, press announcements, sign messages, blog posts, talking points and letters to senators for local groups to use.

“Audit the IRS!” says one suggested sign template. “Stop the targeting!” says another.

The groups is also encouraging activists to tweet messages like “IRS scandal is exactly why the fed gov’t needs less authority.” Participants in the protests are encouraged to end their tweets with the hashtag “#DCIntervention.”

In addition to the protests, the Tea Party Patriots are calling on people to sign a petition demanding answers from the government and a full congressional investigation of the IRS, and are encouraging other organizations who felt they were targeted to let the group know.

5 Ways Obama Can Restore the Public's Trust and Rescue His Presidency

Painful choices include appointing a special prosecutor on the IRS and offering an apology to The Associated Press.

   May 20, 2013 |  9:40 a.m.

(AP)

Swamped in controversies, President Obama and his slow-footed team are essentially telling the American public, “We’re not crooked. We’re just incompetent.

The IRS targeting conservatives, the Justice Department snooping at The Associated Press, the State Department injecting politics into Benghazi, the military covering up sexual assaults, and the Department of Veterans Affairs leaving heroes in health care limbo – each of these so-called scandals share two traits.

First, there is some element of “spin," the cynical art of telling just enough of the truth to avoid political embarrassment. Obfuscation and demagogy, the dirty tools of political quackery that Obama pledged to purge from Washington, enjoy top-shelf status at his White House.

Second, there is almost comical bungling. While denying involvement in high crimes and misdemeanors, the Obama administration appears to be pleading guilty to lesser crimes of bureaucratic incompetence.  But that is an unsustainable position for a president who wants Americans to believe again in the power and grace of good government, particularly as it relates to the implementation of Obamacare.

--IRS agents targeted conservatives. Their bosses lied about it for months.

--Justice Department investigators violated internal guidelines to secretly spy on The Associated Press.

--White House and State Department officials minimized their role in shaping initial explanations for the Benghazi attack.

--Military officers assigned to sexual assault prevention units are charged with sexual battery.  The Pentagon’s own study finds that 26,000 service members experienced unwanted sexual contact in 2012. It’s not a new problem.

--Despite a 40 percent increase in funding, the Department of Veteran’s Affairs cannot ease a backlog of cases. The typical wounded warrior waits more than 300 days for action on a claim. In major cities, the wait can be 642 days.

The backdrop to this parade of buffoonery is a decades-long decline in the public’s faith in government, a trend continued under Obama.  Restoring the public’s trust in his governance is the only way Obama can survive the controversies with his agenda and legacy intact.

In interviews, allies of the White House privately suggested a few things Obama could do, including:

Appoint a bipartisan oversight board to oversee the implementation of Obamacare. There is no way around the fact that a vast majority of voters will not trust the IRS to implement the greatest piece of social legislation in decades. Before the tempests, Obamacare was unpopular and largely misunderstood by most Americans. The law’s success hinges on the government recruiting young adults into insurance pools. And polls show young adults are the least likely to trust government.

Layer the White House communication team with experienced crisis managers.  As I wrote here last week, Obama needs to realize that the dedicated public servants in the West Wing are not getting the job done.

Apologize to the AP and announce a new policy for leaks investigations. The White House needs to punish people who leak classified information that endangers national security. But the scope of the snooping at AP combined with Obama's unprecedented zeal for leaks investigations raises doubts about his commitment to transparency and to an unfettered media. He has pursued more such cases than all previous administration combined, according to the Washington Post. The paper also reported that the administration spied on a Fox News reporter at the State Department. Again, this is a matter of trust.

Appoint a special prosecutor on the IRS. The last thing the country needs is another subpoena-powered fishing expedition like the Whitewater inquiries.  But we might need a special prosecutor with a narrowly defined mission to investigate the actions and motives of IRS agents and their superiors. Is there a better way to restore the agency’s integrity? The administration investigating itself will not lift the cloud from Obama’s White House.

Reset the narrative and public expectations with a major speech on trust. Obama has spoken eloquently and convincingly about this issue. If his next address included painful solutions such as the ones above, he might restore the public’s audacity to hope.
